Packaging is a no-frills box with the prominent verbiage being in Chinese with the English in smaller lettering under. There are no instructions or packing materials - just the unit inside the box. For practical use, none of that really matters, though. You just plug it in, put it in water and it does it's thing with the "mist" immediately appearing. It also spits some water up. From my experience, they all do but this one's a little more forceful - something to keep in mind when placing this to make sure it's in a container large enough to contain that or with a partial lid or that it's not around anything that could be damaged from a few constant drops hitting in the same spots. On the positive side, there is a middle part to the power cord that disconnects on both ends. It's not an extension cord as it has two female connections and both the cord from the wall plug and the unit are male, meaning they can't be connected without it but it does allow you to snake this through areas that would be difficult or impossible if you had to pass either the device or the plug end through. Another words, if you want to put this in a plastic witch's cauldron, you only need to make a hole somewhere slightly wider than the cord and if you were building a more complex prop where you needed to snake the cord through something complex that either would be difficult or impossible to remove after, you can do that and have plug and device not dangling around when not in use. The alternating color lights are sort of cool but it would have been nice to either have a way to set them to just one of the colors or to turn them off, completely if you didn't want the pattern but there's no option for that. If it's on, they're on but I'm guessing this could be resolved with some electrical tape firmly applied while it is still dry to cover those up.
