Love this kit. I installed this on my 97 Ram 1500, 4x4 with the 5 speed. I pull trailers often, and the 2wd low feature is awesome for backing up heavy trailers or in tight areas. (Saves your clutch, you can pretty much crawl at idle). The Install was pretty simple, took maybe 2 hours. Make sure you use plenty of zip ties to keep you cable away from the exhuast, or sharp corners. There are two ways to engage the 4x4: By either rotating the knob counter-clockwise or by pushing the button in and pulling it out until it clicks. The way I do it: Put the truck in neutral, and pull the transfercase lever into 4x4. Then twist the Posi-lok knob while slowly turing the steering wheel back and forth, this will allow the axle shafts to align and you can feel it lock into 4x4. Summary: I love this kit, one of my favorite upgrades I have done to my truck. I've had it for 6 months and no issues so far. Much faster and more reliable than the stock vacuum actuator. Also, this kit is made by Posi-Lok, and is the original. There is a knock-off from Alloy Usa on here as well that is not of the same quality.. Spend the extra $$ and get the real deal. ... show more

Installed on Gen 2 Cummins Pros; Nice quality, good instructions with photos, works as advertised Cons; The noise that comes through the cable is horrible, The gear oil smell that comes through the cable is pretty bad too, Sent a message to supplier stating I received a different part number then I ordered.     • Reliable front axle engagement = peace of mind.
This kit fit perfectly on my 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 with Dana 60 front CAD axle. This is a very high quality kit with everything you need including clear, concise instructions. Knowing I can engage the front axle with the pull of a cable instead of hoping the vacuum or electrical system works is a clear matter of peace of mind. I do not even attempt to diagnose the problems in faulty OEM CAD systems, I just rip out the factory electrical or vacuum system and install a kit like this. I have installed literally dozens of these kits for other people and in 4 of my own vehicles over the years. This is a must have for any 4x4 with janky factory electric or vacuum operated front axle engagement systems (which is pretty much all of them!) ... show more

Very fast shipping, you do have to get creative when installing cable is pretty long and will not do tight corners. Once you have it through the firewall and ran to the axle the rest is easy. Works great though and looking forward to not dealing with the vacuum issues. Thanks

No more wondering if the axles are gonna engage or not! Push button and pull cable and it’s going! Directions could be better but all together it’s well worth it
