First off, if you are using this for climbing or fall protection make sure you know what you are doing and getting. It is not a “climbing” rope, as it is a Static rope not meant to stretch—so you are more likely to be injured by the sudden stop when the rope catches you compared to a “Dynamic” rope. Static ropes like this are for utility use, hauling gear or securing things during a climb. For its intended purpose, this is a great rope—good UIAA certified strength, easy to tie, well made over all. This is a good “in the middle” rope in terms of weight, strength, and size. It compares well to my other climbing rope. No doubt it is great for many purposes beyond climbing, but you are paying a premium for that UIAA certification and climbing quality. Of course, a name brand climbing rope (ie Black Diamond) is much more expensive, so this is a good deal.

As the elves told Samwise Gamgee, "Never travel far without a rope!" This one in particular is not made from the inner bark of mallorn trees, but it is still slender and strong. I keep it in my vehicle in case I ever need it. And believe me, it's come in handy a time or two.

If you're just looking for 33 feet of rope to stash in your trunk, or to use as gear rope while climbing, or to pull a pail full of tools up to a rooftop, this is the rope for you. It's EXACTLY as described, 5/16" thick, and 10 meters long. At about 60 cents foot, however, it's priced higher than other similar ropes, and I found nothing with this rope to justify the extra cost.

It's more than enough to get me up and down the trees I'll be using it on. I cannot confirm the tensile strength of it as I have no way to weight 3000lbs. It ties into a prusik well and holds perfectly fine on my larger ropes. It slides easily and grips just as well. I would get more of this rope if I run into the need.
