As an ex infantry soldier, the idea of Prusek climbers seemed really appealing. I love the concept. It’s a cool product. BUT… 1. The ropes are too thin to create enough bulk at the not to work back-and-forth. It’s just not usable for anyone with man hands. 2. The O rings are cheap.

They are a bit short to be used as a Prusik Sling but they work well for many other uses. Easy to hang your pack from a tree, great for hanging food away from campsite, used to quickly hang my hammock, great for attacking items to my pack.

The quality of the rope looks to be quite cheap and without a rating, of breaking strength. No better than a tiedown for the back of a truck with a 200 to 400lb rating. I was going to give it to my son for climbing but with drew, because I would not want to put my trust in this, nor his life. It seriously looks like a common Dacron rope. Maybe used to only arrest your gear bag or something. For spinucleling or rock climbing I questing its worth because of no breaking strength ratings. True you can use shoe laces in a pinch to do the same thing, but to add that much weight, I have much higher expectations. Maybe this was only meant for camp, and gear bag, rigging. ... show more

I use these for climbing and they are super nice and move super well. The only thing I would recommend getting with these are different carabiners. The clips that come with are weak and not to trust worthy.

Had a fellow older guy friend up clearing leaves ahead of storm. He came off the wet roof to ground (~16 feet). Ouch. Broke hip, arm, and ribs. Alone and heck of a struggle to open door and even get phone for ambulance. Cautionary tale! I no longer climb and my harness no longer fits (heh!). So I got a new harness, rope, and prusiks. Now tie in for all chimney & leaf cleaning and almost anything that puts me up on a ladder. Wife is happier too... . ... show more
