Description

The PRS SE Custom 24 Sem-Hollow Piezo is a highly sophisticated and incredibly versatile instrument. A solidbody guitar with a maple top, mahogany back, dual numbers, and the patented PRS tremolo, the Custom 24 is the original PRS design first introduced in 1985. This semi-hollow version adds natural resonance and a vibrant, organic tone. The humbuckers in this model are PRS 85/15 "S" pickups, which can be tapped via the push/pull tone control for more sounds. The addition of the LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system furthers the instrument's versatility by offering electric and acoustic tones in one guitar. The PRS SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow Piezo is designed with two discrete volume controls (magnetics and piezo) and output jacks (mix/piezo and magnetics). Players can plug into the "Mix/Piezo" jack and use the individual volume controls to blend the 85/15 "S" pickups with the piezo's acoustic tones. Alternatively, players can plug into the jacks separately, so the guitar can run magnetic pickups into an amp and run the piezo through an acoustic amp or DI into the soundboard. When using the magnetic output jack in isolation, the piezo battery is bypassed completely, acting as a failsafe (in this scenario, the magnetic pickups still work even if the piezo battery has run out of juice). Additional details include a matching headstock veneer, headstock and fretboard binding, and lampshade knobs. With nearly infinite tones and roadworthy reliability, the PRS SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow Piezo is a modern classic that looks and feels as good as it sounds.

Versatile guitar. Build quality seems excellent. No sharp fret edges etc. Time will tell if it stays that way. Magnetic pickups low E is quieter/muffled compared to rest of the strings. I guess that’s expected from overseas model (but this is kinda expensive considering that). Only thing missing is a mini toggle to switch between piezo & magnetic pickups for “on the fly” tone change. Lowering & raising volumes takes a second & I’m sure sound tech doesn’t appreciate the volume inconsistency if you’re switching often. Piezo sounds decent enough with some help from compression & reverb but a little “twangy” - to be expected from nickel strings. If you switch to phosphor/bronze traditional acoustic strings, it will sound better but the mag pickups will work but you won’t get a useable tone. If you like your action low, piezo will be extra twangy - almost like a slap bass tone - from strings being so close to fretboard. If you adjust your playing attack, you can get a low action acoustic sound that saves your fingers. Piezo output is kinda hot & can distort if you play hard & doesn’t appear to have a trim adjustment other than the actual volume knob itself. Having 2 outputs can be handy & gives you plenty of signal chain options combined with a line selector pedal & your external effects/pedal board. Overall, you can get a decent acoustic sound but it doesn’t beat a traditional acoustic guitar with under saddle piezo pickup but this beats having to bring 2 guitars to the gig. ... show more

Hay it is amazing feel and see it glad it made it in only 1 box.. most of the time it is double boxed. But not this time and the box was beat up. . But I think for 1000 plus dollars it should came in a hard shell case . But yes , it is some kind of two guitars into one. but not really.I mean it sounds good . But really it is electric power and sound like a acoustic guitar it doesn’t sound like that.. I would say it sounds more like an electric guitar. It is louder sounding as the top end is more brighter with the lower end stay the same. As two different sounds it is ok . but far as the guitar it self it needs a lot more work and setting up . I will have to take some time on it. The neck has a bad back bow of the neck. It is a crazy back bow. I think I will try to tighten it up after I have let it set for 3 days. I will restring it up the next day but far as the tuners are . There just ok .I will have to replace the tuners with locking tuners . I have seen some scratches on the bottom and bottom end and back and side of the guitar . But just the way it should be I guess. Lol . but yeah it is worth what I paid for I guess. But it wasn’t perfect at all and see how much ever one thinks that everything should be perfect it isn’t ... show more
