I'm very sensitive to smells. I needed to wash these out in the yard with soap and water then let them dry and off-gas in the summer for a day. After that they were decent. I've heard of people using thick rubber mats for their home gym. They must love huffing that smell, because I went to a supply place and smelled the ones sitting outside and there's no way they would ever stop giving off fumes. These are now in my house and don't smell. I have a REP 1 inch rack and weights sitting on it and I've had no issues with them moving. I'd sand up a piece of 1/4 plywood to put in the middle of the rack if you wanted to use a bench on them. It's all about what you want. Easy to connect and setup. My only complaint is that whenever I put heavy workout equipment on these they slowly start to separate. They work great if you just plan on stretching or doing light workouts with it. All in all, it at least does its job and protects the floor.

The 24x24 sections assemble easily. Each comes with two edges. Once assembled, the padding is thick and comfortable. The non-slip surface is only partially non-slip. I used it for weightlifting and aerobic/body weight exercises. Unfortunately, for me, the tabs pulled apart easily leaving gaps in the padding. Maybe the double-sided tape would have fixed that. Maybe not. Either way, I could not use it how I wanted to do so. Could not return it in the original boxes, so could not return it at all. Keep the shipping boxes. ... show more
