This helmet checks all the boxes for me. ECE compliant, modular, accommodates my glasses and earbuds well, excellent sun visor, vents seem to work well and provide a good amount of fresh air. I made the mistake of buying an ILM helmet which granted was half the price but only has a DOT rating. Then I found out just about anyone can lie on a form and get a DOT sticker. MAKE SURE you buy a helmet with a SNELL or ECE rating! Also that ILM helmet was not modular and was loud as heck above 30mph. HJC might not be a "cool" brand, but it is a name brand that has been in the helmet market for many years. You really can't beat this helmet at this price for what it offers. Also, I normally wear XL (at least my old Scorpion EXO fit well in XL) and this fits well in XL for me, so true to size. I know another guy here said to buy a size up, but helmets should be tight. You don't want the helmet to shift around if your head hits the pavement. ... show more

Great helmet for the price with lots of features and DOT and ECE rating! I liked this helmet a lot but my doubt about size made me return it. I wear a large. I bought a large and it was very tight. Many reviews say it breaks in after a few rides and weeks. I'm gonna try some on at the local shop to determine if XL is better or if I should buy a L and give it more time to break in. ... show more

Good fit if you have a large medium oval head shape (at least in my case). I agree with some of the other posters saying that these run small. My head measurement is 24.5 in. After trying every helmet in every price range at a Cycle Supply shop I ended up getting a Shoei Neotec 2 size XL but it was just too tight in the cheeks, even after downsizing to 31 mm pads. The XXL came too far down over my brow. I ended up going to a motorcycle dealership, and tried on the XXXL version of this helmet, but it was still a little tight. The 4XL fits perfectly, and was about $400 less than the Shoei and has a lot of the same features. For reference, my very old Shoei that I am finally replacing was a 3XL, so I would definitely try one size larger than you usually wear. ... show more

I have always been happy with HJC helmets. I ordered a large and it did fit snug at first but after wearing it a few times it is feeling alot better. The main shield holds place in several positions. The drop down visor works great. The chin bar release and locks well. Vent seems good, so far riding in cooler temperatures. Love riding motorcycles and being a passenger, but have always hated having my entire head enclosed in a tight, difficult to remove helmet. Open face helmets don't provide the protections (lower face/jaw) that I want should an accident occur. This helmet design solves both of my concerns and I love it!! I fits tightly enough to dampen air noise and has a totally hidden flip-down sun visor which I don't use because I wear my prescription sunglasses which fit perfectly inside. Easy to flip the lower portion of the helmet up and down while in motion...no need to stop and adjust. Now I feel safe and free when I ride! Thanks! ... show more
