  • Perfect for outdoor pet baths
Model: With Handle
They say even in hot weather using a garden hose to wash your dog outside is not a good idea since the hose generally has very cool water. Guessing it’s too much of a shock temperature wise. My new rescue refuses to get into the bathtub so this water heater was a great find. Instructions are clear. Easy to install and works great. Portable and lightweight; maybe 10 pounds without water in it. Came with all hardware needed and a shower hose. You can hang it up onto something too. Cool design. I didn’t notice any leaking. Feels well made and durable. Excellent quality for the price point. Relatively inexpensive too. Doggie is happy and clean! ... show more

  • Good Low-Volume Outdoor Tankless System
Model: With Handle
I ordered this small tankless water system to use while remodeling an old ranch house. The unit performs very well, just as I expected for a small water heater. It is a nice looking unit, well thought-out, and completely functional. Construction is of light gauge sheet metal coated with a good quality enamel paint. The front mounted knobs and controls have a good feel. The water heater seems to be durable under normal usage conditions, but may not be good for long-term outside installation. I recommend using this unit out of doors due to the open flame burner inside. The heating coils are in the top with heat rising to a partial open removable lid. I note that even though it is propane fired, it is not completely 'off the grid' because it requires D-Cell batteries to operate. I would have preferred a setup for rechargeable by USB, or even a slide-in power pack similar to cordless power tools. The water heater needs to be hung on a wall. There is a single screw hole on the back for hanging. Apparently it is not designed for permanent installation. It will not sit flat on the floor due to all three connection hoses entering from the bottom. The heater arrives as a partially assembled kit, with all hoses separate. Ample instructions for assembly and operation are provided. Assembly is generally intuitive, and all connection fittings on the water heater are clearly labeled. A propane hose with a fitting for a standard 20lb bottle is provided. The unit requires water pressure. I used it first with a portable, cordless water pump pulling from a five-gallon bucket, then from a garden hose from the well with a 30lb pressure limiter. Hot water temperature is quite sufficient for showers, and baths, and cleanup. Heat tapers off if I try to run too much through it too fast. I am very pleased with this unit, and would order it again. At this price point, I feel it is a good value. ... show more

The highly anticipated propane tankless hot water heater has officially arrived! While it's currently enjoying a cozy winter slumber until my outdoor kitchen project thaws out – because, let's be honest, who tackles major construction in a blizzard? – I'm already envisioning countless greasy dishes banished to the great outdoors. Having a whole-house unit, I know the magic these things work, so this outdoor companion is destined for greatness! Upon initial inspection, everything looks fantastic. All necessary parts are present, including lines and a handy mounting bracket. The instructions appear comprehensive, which is always a plus, even for experienced DIYers. With no scratches or paint mars, and those neat little vents and setting knobs, this unit is ready for its moment in the sun. Installation should be a breeze when spring arrives, and I absolutely cannot wait to liberate my indoor sink from the tyranny of barbecue aftermath! ... show more

  • Good Price Point If Issues Addressed. Quality Control-Needed Simple Wire Fix Needed To Work.
Model: With Handle
I saw this Propane Tankless Water Heater offered and thought I would try it out as a camping water/shower heater source. I already had a rechargeable, battery operated, (submersible) water/shower pump system that I place in a 5 gallon bucket for a water source. After cobbling together my propane bottle, a longer water feed hose (to better reach into my 5 gallon bucket pump), use of my rechargeable water pump, and the fix of a simple "quality control" issue, I was finally able to get the water heater to work properly. The price point for this water heater would be pretty good except for the issues I've outlined below. Once I conquered these issues, the water heater worked correctly and quickly, providing hot water, using only my rechargeable water pump set up. ISSUES: 1) Owner's Manual - Not too helpful for setting up or troubleshooting. A person considering this device should have some basic knowledge of Propane plumbing/use as well as basic water system plumbing/use if they don't plan on using a professional to set it up. I will say that the heater very rapidly (nearly instantly) cranks out very hot water on the highest settings. I was able to turn down the heat to comfortable levels using the left (Gas Valve) knob. I found the center (Winter/Summer) knob confusing. I found that when set on the (clockwise) Summer? setting, the heater didn't provide very hot water, but rather warm. When it was set on the (counter-clockwise) Winter? setting things worked fine and you could control things using the gas valve. The right (Water Valve) seemed to increase water flow when turned counter-clockwise (shower depiction) and reduced flow when turned clockwise (stream depiction). Again...the Owner's Manual does not really explain these things at least to my satisfaction. 2) Quality Control Issue - "Hot Water Outlet"'s, electronic valve; One of its two wires WAS NOT hooked up to one of its (2) posts on its associated electronic valve. I found this out only because I could not get the heater burner to ignite, repeatedly. The heater would continually try to ignite but the flame would immediately go out, and an error light each time. I just about gave up on this water heater thinking it was a dud until I looked up inside the bottom of the tank. Just above the "Hot Water Outlet" I saw a wire with a connector on its end just dangling. The wire had come out of a two wire harness. The other wire connector was hooked up to a post on an electronic valve just up/inside for the "Hot Water Outlet" attachment. There was a second electrical post on the same valve having no wire connector plugged onto it. So, I tried plugging this "errant" wire/connector onto the available post on the valve and.....walaaa! The heater worked perfectly and ignited on the first attempt. I do not think that this wire connector was jarred off or knocked loose since when I plugged this connector onto the valve post it it went on (and stayed on) very tight. (See photograph of this electrical connector. I applied a spot of White Out to it for reference). I think this wire connector was left off accidentally during manufacturing. Other people having less "back yard mechanic" skills may have simply written this heater off as junk. Provided Hoses - (A) Metal Braided Water Inlet Hose; Only 2 feet long. There is not much you can do with 2 feet of water supply hose. I think a 4 foot hose would have been the minimum acceptable length for such a hose. In my case I bought a separate 5 foot long hose so I can have a bit more flexibility using the 5 gallon bucket system. (B) The outlet/shower hose and showerhead attachment (kind of cheap quality) but worked acceptably. It was approx. 4 feet long. I already had another better quality outlet hose/shower head that came with my battery operated water pump so it was no biggy for me. (C) The provided LPG hose (with regulator) was more than acceptable, approx. 5 feet long. Battery Enclosure - Be careful to pay attention to the orientation for the two D size batteries you will need to get for the heater to work. The battery enclosure lid (underside) does show the + and - side for the batteries. Just make sure the correct orientation of batteries is done related to the orientation shown on the lid and respective battery spaces. ... show more
