  • Great Feel and Comfort!
Color: Black Style: Rebound 5A
I’ve been using the Promark ActiveGrip 5A Rebound drumsticks for a few weeks now, and I have to say they’ve made a noticeable difference in my playing. The grip is fantastic — as I start to sweat, the ActiveGrip technology kicks in and the sticks actually become tackier, giving me a secure hold throughout my entire session. The feel of these sticks is incredibly comfortable, and the hickory wood provides a solid balance of durability and flexibility. The acorn tip offers a smooth, articulate sound on both the snare and cymbals. They’re great for both fast and heavy playing, and I love how responsive they feel. If you're someone who struggles with grip or just wants a more secure feel without having to constantly adjust, these sticks are definitely worth checking out. They’ve improved my drumming overall, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! ... show more

  • Stick may end up looking ragged from midway to tip, but they're still so reliable!
Color: Black Style: Rebound 5A
The media could not be loaded. I have been buying these for years for my son, from age 10-16. He plays very hard and often. Let's say while playing an important gig (with Sean Yseult from White Zombie), he was using another pair of sticks that broke. Thankfully he had a masterful handoff of a Promark and he's never gone back since! Seriously though, these sticks are incredible. They don't slip, and even though the black wears off midway to the tip (just proof you're actually using them), the grips stay true and don't peel or wear off. The wood will wear, but he's played his sticks to whittled nubs. They DO break after time, but always when old and worn, not prematurely. Something we can say about all the Promark sticks he uses. These are his favorite though. If you watch the video you can see the black at the grip and the weathered mid to end. But you can also see how they hold up to tough playing for 5+ minutes, even in this state. Other sticks would have given up for sure. Highly recommend these sticks. I buy them both through Amazon and at music stores when I see them. ... show more

  • Really durable sticks, grip tech works!
Color: Black Style: Rebound 5B
TLDR: These work, buy buy buy! Ever have a stick go launching out of your sweaty hands? Of course you have. Drummer problems amirite? Otherwise you wouldn’t have ended up here. Yes these work. Yes the grip does increase on these as your hands sweat from all that hard work you’re doing (or your nerves). No more sweat slick sticks, the sticks actually feel as if they’re increasing in grip and rubber texture/feel as moisture increases. Unintentional bonus to these sticks is the material that improves grip also improves durability. These sticks are tanks. They can really take rimshots (looking at you my Metalheads). ... show more

  • Different in a good way
Color: Black Style: Rebound 2B
I've been experimenting with drumsticks beyond standard sizes and styles, and I wanted to try these since they seem interesting. They're the same quality you'd come to expect from promark, but with a very distinct feel in the hand. It's definitely not for everyone (my girlfriend hates touching these after they've "activated") but I'm a big fan of the concept and have transitioned to using activegrips exclusively. That being said, if you are buying these, take note that they are slightly thicker than usual for the size, probably as they are standard size sticks before the coating is applied. The 5A feels closer to a 5B, and the 2B feels like I'm swinging a whole tree. I am definitely sticking with 5A/5B sizes, but I do really like these overall. They also look cool, which is nice ... show more

  • Seems to allow me to play faster than other sticks
Color: Black Style: Rebound 5A
I've tried 15 different drum sticks and think these allow me to play the fastest. They are not as small and light as some sticks that I use for small indoor venues (I play a lot of folk and Americana and like Promark LA Special 7As for playing as quietly as possible). For rock and punk, these are the best drumstick I've found. ... show more

  • Go-To sticks
Color: Black Style: Rebound 5A
My son takes drum lessons with a mainstream music school. Part of their program is to build confidence and get the kids to perform live on a stage at local venues every few months. He still gets a bit nervous and mentions his hands sweat (I secretly worried about him accidentally flinging the sticks). I did some searching and saw mostly grip-tape products, and was concerned that wrapping the sticks with tape may add thickness and weight and throw his playing off a bit. Then I found these and since they had good reviews, I picked him up a pair to try. I wanted to make sure his teacher was ok with these or possibly give a reason why they weren't a good idea, but was pleased when he exclaimed "oh those are what I use when I perform!" That was a good sign. My son's been using these about 6 months for both practice and performing, with good results. To avoid having to adapt to different sticks, he decided to use them as his everyday sticks. They are just slightly tacky when you first hold them but as your hand sweats, they actually grip better. Other than that they play and feel like any standard stick (5A in his case). After a few months the ends of the sticks do show wear from rim hits (he's still learning) but the playing and sound is not affected. The photo is after 6 months and shows wear from hitting the rim, but the grip area is still perfect. The actual tips do not have the coating and are bare wood. He has another live show coming up so I threw a new pair in his Christmas stocking to use for performances that don't look so beat up. He'll continue using his original pair and have a newer pair for shows. A few of his fellow drummers have brightly colored sticks just to be different and flashy. He's not a glamor kid, so the cool but serious black color fits him more while also providing the non-slip functionality. He's happy with these, so I can see them continuing to be his go-to sticks for some time. NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are too brief and don't support their opinions with examples. Writing useful reviews helps pay it forward. ... show more
