I've now bought 4 of the ProKeeper 1.5 Coffee Storage Containers with Scoop. We make only a small pot of coffee each day, but prefer a ground coffee brand available in 3 lb. cans for its higher quality, ease of use, and low packaging. These ProKeeper containers are sturdy medium-thick plastic; they close tightly, and are easy to handle; and a 3 lb. can can be neatly divided into two of them. Although some think this is a bad idea, I then store the coffee containers in the freezer and use as needed--and I find very little decline in quality over the time it takes to finish them, no more than would be true of the 10-11 oz. bags I would otherwise use. I've decided to buy my decaf in the same brand/size, so now will store the decaf in the two new containers, which can be easily marked. My only "downside" is the scoop included with each, which I don't need or use--but for those who prefer, these scoops fit inside the lid so they are always at hand. Excellent product, keeps our matcha fresh and vibrant. Protects from uv with tinted walls, and airtight closure. Only detail I would add for future design in the ceramic piece that helps keep moisture out. **I accidently knocked it off the ledge from an average counter height and it landed on the corner. The corner took a hard hit and it cracked all the way through leaving a small hole. But the reat of the container is in perfect condition. It did not shatter. Great quality! ... show more

My old coffee canister cracked so I ordered this coffee keeper from Progressive International and is simply perfect for keeping my ground coffee fresh. It's large enough to hold enough coffee to last me a few days yet small enough to keep on the counter without cluttering it up. There is a handy scoop that attaches under the lid. The seal is TIGHT and it snaps in the closed position with a clicking noise so you know it's secure. The smoke colored see through plastic container allows you to always see how much coffee is being stored. It's also easy to keep clean as I rinse the inside under running water and wipe the outside clean with a damp sponge before drying with a soft rag. I'm a bit uncomfortable putting this canister in the dishwasher due to the rubber seal and possible "etching" of the plastic. To make this container a bit more decorative in my kitchen, I used my Silhouette machine cutter to create vinyl labels which adhere perfectly to the plastic finish. I looove this little canister. I actually use it for dishwasher soap and not coffee. I prefer the powdered dishwasher soap for its value and versatility, but I hate that the boxes of powder are bulky and awkward, and you cannot see at a glance how much you have left. I searched for a while for an appropriate container and this one fits the bill 100%. Nice, thick, durable acrylic, with moisture-proof gasket, and a built-in scoop. The scoop is handy as I can precisely measure my soap for each load. This is one of my all-time favorite purchases for my kitchen. It does not hold a full large box of the soap, so store the box with my other large cleaners until it's rime to refill, and the cannister stays under my sink, near the dishwasher. ... show more

    • Great choice for psyllium fiber powder
I purchased this to store my psyllium fiber powder. Previously I had just been using an old Optifiber canister, and that was suitable enough. However, though I had no evidence of there being an issue, I felt like exposure to the open air probably wasn't the best for the fiber, so I bought this. It holds the exact same amount as the Optifiber canister, and takes up about 1.5x the shelf space while being shorter. Pros: The build quality - of the container itself, the lid, the latch, the seal, even the hinges - are all top rate. Very happy with that. It comes with a little 1TBSP measuring scoop that snaps onto the lid, which is convenient because that's exactly the amount of powder I use per serving. The container even has a corner to it, so I can pour out the last of the fiber powder into a cup when there's too little for the scoop to collect, something that was always an issue with the canister. Cons: The container is a ~little~ tricky to pick up. This is because, unlike some of Progressive International's other containers, this doesn't have a ridge you can use to pick it up. I have average-sized male hands, and can do it with minimal effort. If you are female, or have otherwise smaller hands, you might need to use two hands to pick it up. Only an issue if you are doing this often, like to take off a shelf. The container is a ~little~ tricky to open. This is more of a use case thing, but I pick up my container, open it, and scoop out the powder, and since there's no handle on top of the lid, I have to open it using the latch. Maybe that's in the design - it is certainly robust enough for it - but so far it is a bit awkward, since the quality of the seal means you have to apply slightly more force that you would for a simple plastic door. Probably wouldn't have that issue if I was opening it while it was still resting on the shelf. The plastic scoop as a ~little~ tricky to take in and put out - again, because I'm holding the container, so I have to do it one-handed. I might just leave the scoop resting in the powder instead, certainly won't hurt anything. Conclusion I like the container and am happy to have purchased it. I liked the build so much I purchased another larger variant for my mother to keep her muesli, so she could mix up her own. I may buy another in the future for other dried good. Most of the cons are only related to my specific use case, so if they don't apply, would recommend. ... show more
