With the price of professional haircuts going higher, higher, and higher, this set fulfills a need. Of course that need would not be filled if this set were of inferior quality. Happily, that is not the case. This barber set is SUPERB in every way. It contains almost everything you will need for a haircut except for the electric hair clipper (fortunately I already have one of those) and actually you might not really need a hair clipper. But if you do, Amazon sells many good ones inexpensively. But this home barber set certainly is something just about everyone should have "just in case." Amazon's price, just $27.99 - and that's before any applicable discounts, is low enough (about the price of just one haircut including tip) such that almost anyone could afford it. It is very well-designed, very well-constructed, and I haven't even mentioned its styling which is also superb. I'm certain that if you buy one, you'll be as pleased with it as I am. The scissors in this set seem to be of very good quality: sturdy and they work smoothly, good handles allowing for easy one-hand use, the small stoppers on the handles make them quiet on closing. These will not see professional use with me so I expect they will last for a long time, but I cannot voice an opinion on how well they may hold under intensive use. Nice to have the straight razor holder, though that is something I am not used to and will have to proceed with caution to gain experience. The comb is a regular, plastic comb, nothing special. I would have traded the compact size of the pouch these all come in for a roomier and better organized case. With this pouch everything is cramped together and not all parts are secured, easy to have some of the contents like the straight razor holder fall out, and I am not a big fan of getting such a sharp tool falling on my foot.

What a fancy feeling and looking shear kit. Love the dual tone on all of the scissors. They also all feel great in hand, and operate super smooth. Even the included comb is super sturdy!

Just got this Wenshall hair scissors kit, and it's a bit of a mixed bag. Here's the breakdown: Great Scissors: The good news is the scissors themselves seem really well made. All three pairs are made from a heavy, hardened steel that feels substantial in your hand. They all cut well based on my initial tests. Hit or Miss on Extras: The rest of what's included are barely worth keeping in the bag, though the comb and razor are servicable for personal use. Decent Value: Even considering the extra, potentially unused tools, the three pairs of good quality scissors for $27 is a fair deal. Razor Meh: The razor, as mentioned, is suitable for occasional personal use at best. Overall: If you're looking for a good deal on haircutting scissors, this Wenshall kit might be worth a shot, especially for the quality of the scissors themselves. Just be aware that the other tools are not up to par. I'd recommend checking out the reviews of other kits if you're interested in the extra bits.

I have long hair, and for the past few years I’ve been cutting my own hair from home to save money. I was previously using a pair of cheap Conair scissors to cut my hair and they worked fine, but I was excited to try this more comprehensive set of hair shears. I’ve only used the two “regular” shears so far, but I’m really pleased with how they cut! It feels like a much higher quality than my drugstore hair scissors, but I don’t know enough about hair cutting to evaluate if it affects the end product. It’s also nice that you get things like a barbers comb and a hair clip in the kit, which makes cutting easier.
