Sleek protection.
1. Many reviewers are getting one thing wrong. The clip. You need to press down on it and push it in. You will knows when it's secure because the front will not be flapping around as some reviews are saying. 2. The back side of the case is very thick and good to hold. 3. The front flap is magnetic, clips on easily, comes off easily, and has been updated to include holes at the top for charging and cooling. Keep in mind that the thumbsticks are touching the top flap from underneath. If you have any thumbstick grips or covers you cannot close the flap. It's a very tight fit. Overall for the price. I recommend it. No other case other than the dbrand case which is $75 does what this does. Protect the back AND the front in a slim package. I am no longer using my steam deck case. I am taking this along with me instead.

Could be improved but works as expected
Build quality isn't great but everything works, great protection, I'm much more confident with this case - it is sturdy and the front cover holds and protects my thumbsticks from tearing off. The magnetic attachment of the front cover is very handy too. One thing that can be improved is compatibility with the official Steam Deck Dock - the usb connector cutout barely allows standard USB in, and I have to use a knife to cut away space for official dock connector. Also I had a different case previously that allowed it to be put into the dock stand - but because this case is too thick exactly where the dock physical "grip" interface is - there is no way to even remotely get hold of it in the dock. I would gladly buy the next upgraded version that is compatible with the Steam Deck Dock. Thanks!

Great customer service, improved product
I bought the previous version and it was simply too small & tight to be worth using. An online forum suggested contacting Procase customer support and they kindly comped the price of the new version. This is the best version of this case so far, with a few issues. Cons at the bottom. I was not paid for this review. The rubber case is sturdy and seems to have not changed. I leave the case on all the time and it fits fine in various bags. Also now I have two cases so I can mod one. The material is nicely patterned and has a pleasant feel on the outside. The cover, when clipped properly, provides good protection for the screen and it looks very clean & professional when displayed. When the case is secure I feel safe walking around with it in hand, and I think it will survive more than one drop before failing. The vent pass-through & charging cutouts are handy and make me feel better about running the Deck docked with the cover on. No heat issues that I encountered. With the fast & generous customer service I'll probably check out the next version of this case. The fabric on the joystick bumpouts is still stretched & glued too taut, so while the bumpouts are higher the joysticks still click - however, it needs significantly more pressure than before. The next version bumpouts should not touch the sticks at all when closed. The magnets are not worth the trouble - the next version should have four clips, 2 on each side. Speaking of the clip, the last version and this one share the issue of not being bent properly. They stick out too straight instead of hooking down to catch the case notch. I was able to bend them so they do catch but I was worried about breaking the brittle plastic clip. Make sure you get the "upgraded" version and this is a solid four stars.

Was skeptical, but I'm glad I got it.
First off that front shell is actually pretty solid, maybe not as solid as others, but it's really good considering how little it is. I have another cheaper case on my old deck that has held up really good, the front plate is much thicker than this one. Now I will say with this case, the back piece is alot thicker than my other, it feels very nice to hold and even has design grooves in the handle parts of it. One reviewer had also said you had to sort of push the clip that holds it shut down to make it clip, and it will almost feel like it's going to break but doesn't, and that person was right. It wouldn't clip closed at first, I had to push that piece down. Other than that though this case is amazing. I would recommend this one.

A few things to note:
1. You will struggle to install the case. It is fairly thick tpu, and not very flexible. I did not however, feel at any point like I was going to damage the Deck during the process. 2. The lid operates exactly like its supposed to, contrary to the myriad of reviews that say it does not clasp properly. To new prospects (or current owners), bend the latch tab in a bit when you first get it. Go on, try it, seriously. It's thick thermoplastic, and PART of the lid itself (it's a single mold). Once you do so it will actually clasp with a satisfying click when closed. 3. Depending on your hand size, this case is thick enough that you may have a bit more difficulty pressing the back buttons, but YMMV here This is easily the best case out of 4 that I've tried including the Killswitch.I feel safe tossing the Deck into the glovebox or back seat of my car with the lid installed. Absolutely worth the price, or at least worth a shot. Highly recommended.

Adequate, but could be better.
Alright, it just got delivered and here are my impressions. The outer TPU case for the Steam Deck is perfectly fine. It doesn't block any buttons, but the upper right edge is close to the Y and B buttons, so be careful when you put it on as it may end up rubbing against them and make those buttons more difficult to use. Otherwise, it feels decent in the hand. The outer cover... It isn't the most secure, but will do in a pinch. It will press down on the joysticks though. The "cloth" lining inside the cover inside the thumbstick indents isn't thoroughly glued to the cover, and is a bit stretched, causing the thumbsticks to be pressed when the cover is on. Removing the cloth from this area with a razor/exacto knife creates additional room that helps keep the thumbsticks from getting pressed, and reduces the internal push on the cover making everything fit a little bit better. I still might take my heat gun to it and see if I can "stretch" out the indents a little bit. 😊 The clasp on the bottom doesn't have a large enough catch in my opinion, and looks like it might easily slip off allowing the cover to flop around. On top of that, you can't easily get it to grab the bottom of the case if you attach the top first. My suggestion is to place the clasp portion of the cover on the bottom of the case first and then pull up on the cover wrapping the magnetic portion over the top. Doing it this way makes it require significantly more force to pull the clasp from its spot on the bottom of the case. Without the front cover, it seems to fit into the original case without too much issue, but not if the top cover is attached. Would I feel comfortable using the ProCase in my backpack as its only other form of protection? If I had other loose items in the same compartment that might scratch the screen if the cover came loose? Probably not. But purely for the extra rigidity covering the screen to protect against minor impacts? Sure.

Perfect for commute
I’ve been using for 5 months now on morning and evening subway commute and this is really the best case for that purpose. Flipping over a cover is much faster than fumbling back and forth with a zip case. Just be mindful of people around, the magnet cover falls easily when people bump into it. Now I wish they made one for the new Xbox ROG Ally too.

👎🏼 Super unhappy with the fit 👎🏼
EDIT: I came up with a solution that makes the front cover fit perfectly, so I figured I’d share it here in case — like me — some of you end up with a poorly fitting screen cover but don’t want to (or can’t easily) return the item. I’ll add pictures, but basically I used very thin wooden skewers — the type you’d use for shish kebabs. I placed two of them on the flap near the magnet of the front cover, after cutting the pointy tips off. For now, I taped them down since I’m still testing how well this solution will hold up, but it seems to be doing the trick! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Super unhappy with the fit! I just got this today, and after installing it, it’s clear it wasn’t properly tested for fit. The latch that’s supposed to hold the screen cover in place sticks out way too much, causing the cover to “float” instead of being held securely. This issue effectively renders the case useless in terms of drop/screen protection, since the cover could fly off during a fall. Otherwise, the materials used for the case are fine and feel good. I’ll see what solution I come up with to fix this problem, but I definitely can’t recommend this product if getting a truly functional one is purely a matter of chance. 😔
