Description

This Handyman Spring Assortment by Prime-Line Products contains a variety of small extension and compression springs that provides a handy kit for repairs and replacement of standard spring sizes. Sizes range in diameter, length, wire gauge and end types, and has an average of 84 springs. For best results, follow the installation instructions included with each package. These parts are easy to replace using only a few simple tools. The outside diameters, lengths and gauge thicknesses vary between each of these springs, while their dependability does not. Use these springs for repairs around the house, in the office, vehicle, garage and in many other applications. For further dimensional information, please see the line drawing. I needed a few compression springs of varying sizes for a prop replica I'm working on and figured I might as well give this pack a shot since it cost less than I would be spending at my local hardware store to pick out the 5 individual springs I would need($4.37 with Prime Add-On shipping at time of purchase), and boy am I glad I did! Attached is a picture of the assortment of springs I received, and although I assume this will vary from package to package, if the assortments are all generally the same as mine I think the mfr did a great job selecting close to most useful assortment in a pack like this. The great majority of the springs are compression springs, perfect for my needs and most other projects. They span from extremely light to extremely heavy resistance curves, so extreme that I would call the lightest and heaviest springs specialty items which makes them all the better to have on hand rather than having to hunt for them when I need them. The springs all have a pleasant black, slightly metallic finish, somewhere between brushed nickel and black chrome which makes them blend in very well rather than stand out. Only time will tell just how well the springs keep the resistance curves, but from the ones I've tested by hand so far they don't seem to work harden any measurable amount and a set of calipers measure only a 12 micron average loss of length after 50 full compression cycles on 10 springs which is well within the margin of error. Overall I couldn't be happier with my purchase. These will be great to have on hand in the shop. ... show more

    • Nice assortment of springs at a good price
I needed a variety of springs for a Girl Scout engineering project, with lots of choices and lots of springs. Each girl was able to build a "Leap-Bot" and try several springs, completing the engineering badge. With the pandemic, we can't share a single box with a few springs, and I was able to give each girl 3 springs in her own baggie to build with. ... show more

    • Jumbled mess
This assortment of springs arrived in a big jumbled mess inside of a very tiny box. Mostly compression springs which is not what I needed. Not sure how many springs are in the assortment. The other selections seem to be in a nice plastic container that had each size of spring separated from the other sizes. Should have read the description better and paid more attention to the picture. Probably will just throw these away and order another item. ... show more

Great price and variety of spring types and sizes. Lost a spring from our ryobi weed wacker head (bad design causes you to have to open the head to get new line fed into the trimmer head) and Ryobi said they would not sell or send me a new spring since I opened it, that I had to buy a new $24 trimmer head. I won't buy Ryobi stuff again, but this set of springs had a spring size that worked and we are in trimming business again - thank you. ... show more

This was one of those odd purchases; I needed one spring, but it was easier to buy a selection than one. I'll probably end up using 5-10 of these over the next few years, but having them around will likely save me a trip or two to the hardware store.

Lots of various compression and extension springs, exactly as other reviewers have noted. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality given the low price. I was also surprised that there are some fairly heavy duty compression springs (i.e. difficult/impossible to manually depress). But I was a little disappointed that there weren't any heavier extension springs. Overall, great set that will definitely come in handy. ... show more

Did not have what needed in this box of tiny springs. However I improvised and made one similar to what I needed for my replacement RV step mat spring. Lots of extras for future projects or needs. All good.
