Although there are YouTube videos for doing the removal and installation, it took two men to hold the chair while a third used a pipe wrench to twist the old cylinder out. Note: The cylinder does not have threads, so you may need to twist both dir we actions to get it to loosen. Once loosened it popped right out.

This cylinder nearly perfectly matches the OEM cylinder and fits as expected. Some of the other cylinders on Amazon are too tall for the Aeron, but this one fits well.

I replaced the gas cylinder in my Classic Aeron with this. Removing the old one is a pain, but installation of the new one is a breeze. It's sturdy and easily supported my 275lb frame without sagging.

We moved recently and, somehow, the movers damaged the cylinder on my Herman Miller Aeron chair. This brand of chair is not inexpensive, so replacing the chair was not an option. I checked out some YouTube videos on replacing the gas cylinder and it appeared to be pretty easy, so I ordered a new cylinder. When it arrived, I re-watched the YouTube video and it took about 5 minutes to remove the old one and insert the new cylinder. Easy-peasy. The chair now works like new.

Went out on a limb and went with the cheaper seller with no reviews. 10/10 would recommend. After my original lift leaked all over my carpet I opted to get a new one rather than replace the chair since they are so expensive. While it is a pain in the butt to remove the old one, there are plenty of YouTube videos to watch, this one popped right into place and brought new life into my chair. No more squish and sag! Thanks for having reasonably priced products!
