It was very easy to cut to fit in our space (we used a bread knife). It took a while to expand to the full 9", and surprisingly, the cut side expanded faster and better than the factory edges. What I loved about the mattress was its firmness. It doesn't crush down when my husband and I sleep on it, and I don't find myself rolling into him because he weighs more than me. Even though it was firm, it still had enough of a plush feel to be comfy and cozy. Finally, it didn't feel overly hot as some memory foam mattresses do. I bought 2 of these for my boys' room upgrade. It was the first time I have purchased a mattress in a box. I read the reviews and decided to make the jump. I am really happy with them. I do recommend waiting a full day for the mattress to 'proof' although my boys would not wait. They say they love them and find them comfortable. Purchased 2 of these and one was fine but had to be left for 48 hours but the other did not properly inflate and had a dip on one side that was noticable. I ordered this for my sons bed. I think it’s a little too soft, but he loves it. We let it air out for a day before placing it on the bed. I keep it covered in a full mattress case, but there wasn’t any harsh smell after setup. He’s been super happy with it.
