I go through a lot of cut-off wheels with my Milwaukee 12v cutoff tool. These are significantly cheaper than Milwaukee's own cut-off wheels, so I thought to give them a try. I figured that even if they are just half as good they are worth the price. These actually work really well and are quite durable! They are thicker than the Milwaukee wheels, so I wouldn't use them with very hard metals, but for softer metals, they are just fine. (In my picture, the PRETEC cutoff wheel is mounted on the cut-off tool, and the thinner Milwaukee one is next to it for comparison.) Overall, I really like these. I can save the far more expensive Milwaukee wheel for select projects and use these for everything else. You can't beat the amazingly low price!

I began using these wheels when I do any kind of fabrication or need to cut some thicker metal. I typically use Forney cut-off wheels, but thought I'd give these a go. I was working with some 1-1/2" square steel tubing. I only needed one of these cut-off wheels in the project. The disk cut the steel easily and it seems to last much longer than the wheels I've used in the past. Nothing is more frustrating than having a tool not perform very well, or perform well with no endurance. Since they cut well and last a good amount of time, I'll make it a point to use my cut-off tool more often, especially that I've got a large supply of a quality abrasive.

I'm always using my small cut off saw with various car projects that I'm working on. It uses 3 inch cutting discs, and so when I saw these for their low price I decided to try them out. I'm super impressed as these are cutting discs that last a long time, seemingly longer than other cutting discs that I've tried. I've used them on various types of metal from stainless to normal light carbon steel and they work great. They don't seem to break apart either, which is a testament to their durability. And finally they come with gloves which is kind of handy. I'd recommend them for those who do a lot of cutting of metal. 5 stars!

Just getting into more body work = learning how to Cut & Butt metal pieces together. I watched a lot of online videos. I needed something that helps me thinly cut metal so I can then butt weld the metal together. These cut-off wheels allow for a very nice straight cut but more importantly they cut metal very THIN and FAST. These wheels have a metal reinforced center and look just like the ones in their photos. These cutting wheels make a cut 1 mm smaller than my previous "thin" cut-off wheels. This allows my welds to fill the tinier gap and make one steel panel from two. Even though I need to practice my spot welds more the small gap helps my welds penetrate well without burning off the edges. When I cut both pieces of metal at a 45 degree angle for the cut & butt, that gap gets even smaller and welding gets easier. You need to have a steady hand when using a muffler cut-off tool to make a straight cut. You also need to go slowly and not allow the wheel to dig in too deep or it might break prematurely if accidently twisted.

I dont know what had happened with my items considering the other reviews were very positive. My items arrived with the black paint falling out by just touching the items, all items are rusted and currently I'm soaking them in a small cup with WD-40 hopefully whatever is inside the threads will unclog over night because I cannot screw in the screws all the way in... Lets see if it loosens up by tomorrow morning... I almost never write reviews, usually I write review if I'm extremely satisfied with the product, but good grief this one is not one of them and deserves low grade review. EDIT: Editing the review and bumping up from 1 star to 3 stars because after 24 hours having the mandrels soaked in wd-40 the threads loosen up and I was able to clean up the gunk. Just trying to be fair not leaving 1 star because things got lil better and to make sure they wont rust I'm leaving the mandrels dampened with wd-40.

Let's get this bad out of the way first. The gloves are crap for anything but some light gardening, and maybe for a smaller feminine hand, but certainly not for full grown man. I'm 6"2' and no way I'm getting those gloves on. But, if you're looking to buy some cutting wheels it's very likely you already have some good work gloves. The value here is in the amount of wheels you get for the price! No, these aren't top of the line cutting wheels, but they are more that sufficient for some light to medium cutting tasks. Don't try and force them, just the wheel do the job. The fit my 4" Chicago Electric tool from HF. I don't to a lot of cutting so I haven't invested a lot in higher end cutting stuff, and these fit my needs just fine. Sure, I may even break a couple along the way or they may not last as long as a more expensive wheel, but for this many for the price I can forgive sacrificing a few here and there. Just make sure you keep the safety guard on!
