  • Bass with tact
Style: T10
This is a very powerful woofer! I am a producer and am using these with Adam A7X monitors and the foot switch is helpful for smaller neighborhoods. This thing will go through walls no problems and then continue to shack the walls in your neighbors house. I keep it down almost all the way balanced out with the Adams right around 45hz where the Adams start to fall off. I suggest finding the best place in the room by placing it where you sit using an extension cord and then going into all the different areas of your studio and listening for the best sounding spot... then move the sub there. Suggestion to any who buy this for producing. Do your research on how to place sub-woofers before you complain about the sound quality, frequency response, or volume. Every room is different and making a home studio isn't easy, you have to know a little about physics and be handy with cables and stuff.. I think having the foot switch is a great feature because listening to anything prolonged will eventually desensitize your hearing and cause damage. I only wish PreSonus had designed it with a true pass-through signal circuit because if I'm trying to conserve energy or just don't need the blinking light in the background I won't get a signal. I also wish It would just go slightly lower.. I've listened to some tracks and they go down to 20ish hz and headphones produce it right to that note... this sub definitely can hint at it.. though in the suburbs where your neighbors all have day jobs or work from home or like quite to read books, having to turn it up a little more to hear that 20hz is like bring a marching band to their door step at 40hz.. Not a good idea. So the accuracy of this machine is great for all frequencies that it does produce. The clarity is great for getting that spl check right before clicking it off. I'm so happy to have found one on sale from amazon and in perfect condition!!!! It was an awesome Christmas present to myself. Hopefully it will help produce some hits so I can buy presents for others next year!!!! Also if you're looking for something to shake your house this would do it. two of these in 5.2, 7.2 or what ever would make any movie or party Bang. Cops might join in too ;) ... show more

  • Excellent Subwoofer with Balanced Connections at a great price!
Style: T10
I've been looking for a subwoofer that would have balanced inputs to go between my Bryston 10B electronic crossover but found most subwoofers in the price range under $600 only had RCA connectors. It seems the only reasonably priced subwoofers with balanced connectors are the "studio" models rather than the home audio versions. Unfortunately, a lot of the studio models don't look good from an aesthetic viewpoint. I'm happy to say that the PreSonus Temblor T10 looks great and sounds fantastic. And with a price below $400, it's a virtual audio bargain. The variable input gain control (-30 dB to +6 dB, continuously variable) made it easy to match the subwoofer to my Dynaudio Confidence C1 monitors. I cut out the sub's continuously variable low pass filter (50 Hz to 140 Hz) and used the Bryston crossover to basically send everything below 70 Hz to the subwoofer and everything above 100hz to the monitors via the Bryston's high pass filter. Then I used the Bryston's gain controls to get close and finished off by using the sub's input gain control for fine adjustments. The 10-inch glass-composite low-frequency transducer produces clean, low frequency sound down to 25 Hz and when placed properly the bass is centered between the monitors even when the sub is placed on a side wall. The sub also has RCA connectors and can be slaved to another subwoofer if you so desire. The sub arrived from the vendor double boxed and in excellent shape. The packing was top notch. All-in-all, if you have a Bryston crossover with balanced connections or you need balanced connections to go from your pre-amp to sub to power amp, I heartily recommend this sub. It does what it has to do in an attractive package and at a great price to give a monitor based audio system clean and deep bass that, if properly set up, won't sound bloated or boomy. 250 watt, Class AB amplification ... show more

  • Just get the Eris Sub 8.
Style: T8
I had the pleasure of listening to both the t8 Tumblr and the Eris Sub 8 in my home. I paired them with a pair of PreSonus 5XT monitors. The t8Tumblr had a cleaner Bass and sound overall. But the Eris Sub 8 was way louder. It had a lot to do with the downward firing woofer that the t8 Tumblr has. The Eris Sub 8 has a forward firing woofer which lets you place it anywhere in the room and still keep the sound quality. THE T8 in the other hand. I had a lot of trouble finding The Sweet Spot in the room for the best sound. I have my set up in the living room so it's pretty big room . If you're into You music producing maybe the T8 Tumblr is for you. But if you want some loud music that will fill the room then the Eris Sub 8 is the way to go. Plus you save yourself some $$$.👍 ... show more

  • Very Powerful
Style: T10
So first, it's way too powerful for a small or even medium sized room. You'd be better served getting the 8 inch version. That said, the ground lift switch is pretty nice and doesn't seem to be on the 8-inch version. It got rid of the nasty hum I had. Once I got an EQ set up and got my speakers balanced out, it fills up the room pretty well. For my room, I have this thing turned down pretty much all the way, and an EQ that cuts stuff under 100Hz by something like 6dB. Even then it's too powerful at times, but for most things it's decent. Just make sure you invest in some vibration isolating pads or something, because your neighbors will hate you if you don't. ... show more
