Been using the 5" pair for a few months now and wow I've had little to no complaints about them. I have mine up against a concrete apartment wall and so at a flat EQ they were a little bassy, but having the ability to select a less bass EQ preset on each totally fixed the imbalance and now it's set up very nicely for my room. The clarity and staging these have is great for the price and I would recommend these to anyone else looking for speakers in this price range. I have mine being driven from a balanced headphone amp and haven't had any issue since the speakers are internally individually amplified as well. I set the speaker level to what is comfortable given where I like my amp volume at and haven't touched the speaker volume on the back since. Overall, I love these things ... show more

I have never heard music before the way I’m hearing it now. I’m a solid musician and amateur composer who has been dabbling with Logic and VSL for some time. I decided I needed to upgrade to studio monitors and I really am completely astounded by the sound of these. I can hear exactly where the musicians are sitting in their seats and I’m even moved more emotionally by hearing things in this way. I had a pair of KRK Roket 6's for years (fantastic speakers) - One of them blew out. After looking for a few days, it looks like they're discontinued, so I got a pair of these. I have a home studio, Logic Pro X setup working on Pop, Country, and Rock. They'll definitely get the job done, but they kind of accent the 500 - 1.5k frequencies, making a mix sound slightly more cluttered than intended. Otherwise dependable studio monitors. I will update this once hooked up but wanted to mention that the package had a impact hole 4"x3" that went thru outer box, inner box and finally the actual speaker box. Theres just a hint of mark on the speaker itself about 1" long. Interesting is that its not visible from outside because Amazon had taped up the outside hole with 2" black box tape. Update later if decide to return it. NOT impressed with Amazon putting tape over the hole but maybe it was a precaution, IDK but it means you could not see the the box damage from the outside. Update: No issues with speakers - they are great. Will be keeping them. ... show more
