Description

I was worried about this purchase after reading multiple reviews complaining about instructions/pieces not fitting together/etc. Well, I think those reviews are written by people who don’t know what they’re doing. The instructions made it very simple. To make it easier, I labeled the pieces myself before assembling. The only thing I would say is it that it does take awhile if you’re doing it by yourself.     • SEVERE OFFGASSING persists nearly a year later! Probably not legal to sell in the US!

Initially, this dresser ruined an entire dresser-full of clothes and bedding by offgassing the most nauseated chemical stench I've ever smelled. One whiff literally makes you feel ill. Now, I've had it nearly a YEAR (in a vented storage room away from people and pets) and it STILL STINKS as bad as the day it arrived. Not even cedar chips would draw it out. I don't know what they treated it with, but I would not trust anyone around it, especially children, elderly, or pets (so much for a kid's dresser). I'm disposing of it after I report the company to the proper regulators. This is clearly unsafe and they shouldn't be allowed to import such terrible products. Amazon needs to do a better job of vetting their merch, as this was Prime shipped from their warehouse and the item is STILL for sale despite this not being the only review citing strong chemical smells. ... show more

This dresser is just awful. It will work, but needs replaced already & we just put it together. Now I understand why people buy furniture already put together, BUT, these people had the nerve to throw two almost identical pieces in the same bag with about 5 other pieces that you have to separate & organize. The wood is very very dry & cracks when the screws are tightened. The drawers are very short so they don't hold much. I ordered a 3 drawer dresser at the same time & it is 5X the size of this tiny thing. It really is a waste of money. It's small, low quality, hard to put together, & just not worth it! I like the look of the dresser and everything after it was finished being put together. BUT....almost all of the pieces were not labeled which made it longer and harder to put everything together with instructions. If I have to put something this big together I expect all pieces to be labeled at least with stickers and the instructions to be fool proof. There was also one part in the instructions where the amount of nails/screws (one of those) was not counted correctly. So there was a lot of triple and quadruple checking to make sure we were even putting pieces together correctly. ... show more

I love this dresser but i give it a four star, reson they need to improve on the instruction provided in the manual, its not clear enough, some of it you have to figure out for yourself, i think someone mention it in the reviewers but i buy it anyways because the size would fit perfectly in my daughters room, one more thing this dresser is for kids "not" adults because its a small dresser, so dont buy it thinking its a big dresser its mention "children's 6 draw dresser" meaning its for kids, overall i love this dresser, i have attach pictures before and after, i hope this help on your buying choice ... show more

This is the second purchase I've made in the Sonoma line of this furniture. I bought the tall six-drawer earlier. It went together easily because I'm very visual, and able to turn the pictures into actions. If you're not visual you may have a harder time of it but for me it was about an hour's work (given that I'd just done another of these). That being said this is a very nice dresser for the money. It arrived early and intact despite the delivery being basically tossing it onto my front porch (75lbs!). Finish is beautiful and it felt pretty solid when done. Drawers are in-between the tall six (small) and the normal sized dresser (large). Slides work smoothly but are far from full extension. Still, works for what I needed it for. ... show more

Cute dresser overall, but I have two main complaints with this: 1. the drawers don't pull out all the way. They only pull out about half way, which makes it nearly impossible to pull stuff out of the back of the drawer. 2. the pieces of the furniture showed up with 'dings' and scratches on various edges and corners. Not sure who did quality control for this furniture, but they're failing at their job. ... show more

We moved into an apartment and wanted all matching black laquer furniture pieces to go with our bed frame. I bought all Black Sonoma designs, 2 of the condo size 6 drawer dressers, a 2 drawer nightstand, and the 6 drawer chest. Each took a little time to build, but after you build one each successive one becomes easier and simpler to put together. For the price we paid this furniture looks great, came with all the pieces, had good instructions and is exactly what we needed. It is not as flimsy as some of the reviews had indicated, the drawers are plenty solid enough. It is a painted laminate on top of particleboard, so we understand it's not real durable but we are very careful. It gives the room such a clean modern look. ... show more
