Our senior pitbull, Willie, was diagnosed with heart disease and chronic bronchitis a few months ago and we were told to keep his walks short and to not let him over exert himself. I had already been considering a stroller/wagon because he’s 13 and has some slight arthritis and is just slow now too so his new diagnosis made me decide to do it. I did I lot of research, read a million articles and reviews, watched YouTube videos and talked to friends, family and our online community about their experiences and I ultimately decided on this Doggyhut Premium XL. I’m soooooo happy with my decision! It’s exactly what I wanted and more! Willie is an American Pit Bull Terrier and he weighs 79lbs. He’s very thick and stocky and he fits perfectly in the XL, with room to spare for a small water bowl and/or his leash or anything small. I also purchased the pad that fits on the bottom that is sold separately on Amazon and I recommend it, especially if you have a big dog and/or an old dog. The bottom of the stroller/trailer is just the fabric so he definitely needed a pad to lay on for support. But if you have a bed that fits the measurements of the stroller, that would work well too! We just didn’t have a bed that we wanted to use in it. The pad works perfectly though and has a removable cover than can be washed (we’ve already washed it once). The stroller actually handles better than I thought it would! I can push him through grass, gravel, dirt paths, rocky hiking trails, etc, and I’m 5’3”, 110lbs. I wanted one specifically with 3 wheels, instead of 4, because I read they handle way better and so far it’s been amazing! I love that the handle bar is adjustable so both me and his Dad (who is 6’) can both push it comfortably. Willie absolutely loves his stroller and jumps in to lay down when he’s tired and sometimes refuses to get out! Lol. We took our time to get him used to it because we wanted him to really love it. For the first couple days I just put it in the backyard with the brakes on and taught him a “place” command for him to get inside and lay down. He had no problem getting in or out by himself. I just let him lounge in it and fed him treats. And on the 3rd day I had his Dad come out and push it slowly finally while I walked up front and fed him treats. (he can have issues with things moving while he’s on them so I wanted to take it slow). This all worked out great and he really really loves his stroller! Like I said, there are brakes so you can lock it in place when stopped and when loading and unloading. I saw some people had issues with it tipping slightly when the dog got in or out and we thought we might have to get add a kickstand to it but we haven’t experienced that problem at all. The front has both a screen the zippers up for air flow and also a thicker clear plastic cover that you can zipper up if it’s cold or raining. The top zips and unzips and the back does as well. There are also 2 pockets on the back flap to store water bottles, leashes, small bowls, treats, etc and there is another small pocket on the top for your keys, cellphone, leash, doggy bags, treats etc. I added a cup holder that I got off Amazon to the handle bar and I added a baby stroller fan that I got off Amazon to the inside for him when it’s hot. The fan also doubles as an led light and works great at night as a headlight for the stroller or just as a light to see inside for things. I wish I could add more videos but Amazon only allows one. I wanted to give a thorough review after having it for a couple months because I read every review on here and wished there were even more. Oh and I have a friend who owns the Burley XL Bark Ranger that’s $700 and we both like the Doggyhut better! It was very easy to assemble too. It took us a few minutes to figure out how to release the wheel pin but that was just our own stupidity. Lol. The wheels pop on and off very easily and this fits in the back of my car (Honda Element SUV) without even taking the wheels off. Probably most SUVs you would just have to pop the wheels off first…my car is very wide. I haven’t had to fill the tires at all yet and I use it all the time. I haven’t used the bike trailer function yet (I’m nervous because of how big Willie is and how small I am, lol) but I do plan on trying it soon and I will definitely come back and update my review. Hopefully this helps someone else decide if it’s right for them! I couldn’t be happier with our purchase and I keep saying that this was the best purchase I’ve made in year! Haha. I hope you find what you’re looking for for your pup!

I and my dog love this trailer! It’s perfect for larger dogs. I had another trailer for my 2 pugs and after they sadly passed away I got a rescue dog who is substantially bigger and had to upgrade to a larger trailer. This thing is large enough for a pretty big dog or two. My dog is medium large and weighs about 85 lbs and this fits him wonderfully. Smaller trailers would wobble badly and make me almost tip over on my bike but this one is very stable with over large wheels that make the ride smooth. The tires are also easily removable for changing tubes. I popped a tube on accident it literally took me less than 10 minutes to remove the tire, replace the tube and put it back on. It has reflective lights which are easy to attach. The attachable and detachable front wheel makes it easy to disconnect from my bike and roll him around if necessary. He’s not maimed or crippled so he can easily get in, but even dogs with hip displasia or other walking or climbing issues would have no problem getting in and out. I love that the top opens up so he can stick his head out also, and the front and back doors have zippers so you can allow the wind through. Great investment for my and my dogs bike riding needs. I have several eBikes of different makes and this is easy to attach to any of them. The trailer folds easily to lean against a wall or push under a shelf in the garage. It’s very sturdy and well made. I expect this to last for many years of average use. Highly recommend for any dogs up to large in size.

Super easy to assemble. And then breaking it down to fit in your vehicle is easy too! The wheels just click off when storing it. The breaks for the wheels are perfect as well so I can help my senior pup in without it rolling around. I have a 15 yr old lab (70lbs) with mobility issues and he loves it. He climbs right in no problem. I got this size so he could really sprawl out. It has an attachment inside to clip onto their collar so they don’t jump out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I’m also not gonna lie I had someone pull me in it to test it out before putting my dog in it. I’m 102lbs. The ride is very smooth. And for someone who struggles with directions and was scared to attach it to the bike it was all very easy to figure out. 🥰

Our dog loves this trailer! Now we can include him on bike rides with us! He is really not a long distance running dog and due to a previous ACL surgery he really doesn’t have the stamina he used to. I did a lot of research and read many reviews before choosing a trailer and we are very pleased with this one. It was super easy to put together and folds down for easy storage. It connects to the bike super easy and has a lot of pin locks as well as a safety strap in case the attachment to the bike fails. Our dog is really tall and weighs about 75lbs. He is Great Pyrenees and boxer so he has really long legs. He can lay down comfortably inside and can be zipped in without any issue. I like that it has a tether to keep him from jumping out. He was pretty comfortable in there so I don’t think he would have but we rode next to a busy street and over a bridge so I felt better that he was tethered inside. I read in some of the reviews that they had issues with the trailer flipping over when turning corners, but we never had any problem. I think as long as you aren’t taking super sharp corners going really fast you don’t have an issue. The bottom is not cushiony so we put a folded up towel inside, but he enjoyed standing so we probably didn’t need that. The floor of it has grippies to keep them from sliding. We really like this trailer and our dog loved riding in it!

In general, I like the product, with a couple of caveats. One of the wheels would not snap in place. On 2 occasions, the cart tipped over and was dragged several feet and tore the fabric where it touches the frame. Neither person nor dog were hurt. If you have a large dog, as I do, the center of gravity of the cart changes. Should the dog move suddenly, the cart could tip over, particularly if turning a sharp corner or by going too fast. Doggyhut is constantly trying to improve the hub into which the wheels are inserted. The replacement frame which I installed was different from the frame I bought in 2024 in that you do not have to insert a piece into the hub and then add the wheel. Now that is built into the hub. My wheels both snapped in place and I could not pull them off without pressing on the hub release mechanism. Now Doggyhut has added a pin mechanism to lock the wheel in place whichs, in my opinion, is an added safety feature. I'm not sure if they are shipping this item yet as my replacement does not have the pin. My interaction with customer service via the Amazon website was excellent. One suggestion I have for Doggyhut is to reinforce the material where it touches the framing with leather or other tough material.

I have an 11 year old 75 lb shepherd husky mix who is starting to have mobility issues but still desperately wants to get his walks in. He has always gotten 6-10 miles of walks a day and, when he was younger, we’d easily do 7-15 miles in a single walk on weekends. As he’s gotten older, I didn’t want his world to get smaller or to take away his joy of getting to see, smell, hear new things every day. This stroller is everything we could have hoped for! The XL works perfectly for my dog and his size. We put an old crate mat inside for comfort and it fits well. I researched a ton of options and was concerned none would be large enough. There isn’t a ton of extra room in this one for my dog but enough that he can sit or lie down comfortably inside. If you don’t ride a bike, don’t worry! I’ve never used the bike attachment but bought this one because I thought the shock adoration, durability, and maneuverability would be better than ones not able to be bike-attached, and that turned out to be true. It’s so easy to handle over uneven roads, sand, up and down curbs, etc. Very lightweight when empty as well. It’s also very easy to breakdown to transport in a car. I thought that would be a pain but it takes less than 1 minute. I did buy an additional cup holder for the handle and, with that, it’s truly perfect. The best money I’ve ever spent.

My dog was not supposed to walk for 6 weeks due to shoulder injuries. I spent many hours trying to figure out which cart to get and eventually settled on this one. So far I like it a lot. It took him a few days to lay down and get used to it. It's past 6 weeks now, so I'm slowly adding short walks and still using this for longer walks and he is 100% used to it and possibly even enjoys it (better than sitting at home for sure). He is a 62lbs, long/tall dog. He barely fits comfortably in here laying down with his paws fully stretched in front of him. Luckily he does fit! I added a bed for him, I think it wouldn't be very comfortable without a nice thick pad due to the wheels not being shock absorbing. You can definitely find a cheaper thicker one than the ones this company sells (I had to cut mine to make it fit but it's great). Stroller mode is what I have used the most. It's very sturdy, the detachable wheels make getting it into the back of my 2020 Crosstrek possible (just barely)! I had to add some folded paper to the front wheel where it attaches to the cart. It was a tiny bit loose around the metal post so it rattled, which didn't lessen functionality but annoyed me. The front wheel also rolls in a way that makes jogging with this stroller impossible. At high speeds (at least for me) it kind of jerks different directions and makes for an incredibly bumpy and jerky time. Not fun. But for walking it's perfect. I have had to replace a tire already, but that was because I hit something sharp. This is a tube size that is easy and cheap to find replacements for. I took off the wheel brakes. They made putting the cart into the car harder as they scratched the plastic and take up space. I also think mine looked like they were going to cut into the tires. The seller said that was normal but I'm not sure so I just opted to not use them at all. I wish there was a brake I could use while walking downhill, with a heavy dog it's a little sketchy, but this is a cheaper option so it can't have it all. Bike mode I like less. My dog gets a bit uncomfortable and will circle around while I'm moving, this is a bit scary as it feels like it could cause a flip. The directions say not to exceed 8mph with is super slow, I obviously am going to ride faster than that. It worked fine for my dog but I felt a bit more uncertain that it was totally safe for him. Anyway overall it's held up well, the zippers are good and fabric is fine. Doesn't have a lick of waterproofing so I would love if the company offered a rain fly as I'm in the PNW and I can't really find anything else that would fit this unique shape. I am planning to keep this for when he gets too old to walk comfortably in another 5-8 years.

Our pup has cancer and our vet recommended a bike trailer since he likes to run and he's unfortunately not able to run any longer.. He's never had a bike trailer before and I knew that was going to take a little bit of training and there's a possibility I would have to return the item.. I viewed the policy and didn't see anything abnormal with the return policy so I went ahead and purchased the item My pup is my service animal as well and he is just over 90 lb Staffordshire terrier... We went ahead and put the bike trailer together in our home. It's definitely on the large side which is what we need it one of the things I was not a fan of that I didn't realize the front opening doesn't open completely it has two windows top and front in our pup was not a fan of that. I overlooked that it was not a full opening in front as I thought it was.. Started training without the wheels and he just wasn't a fan. Put the wheels on try to do some more training and he still was not having it.. So after a few weeks of attempts decided it would be best to go ahead and return the item as it was not going to work for our needs. And doing so I received an email from the seller advising to return I was responsible for the shipping and they would deduct that from the credit or they could give me $10 to keep the item.. I did reach out to Amazon to see if there was anything I could do since this was not listed in the return policy and I was advised to go ahead and return and then contact Amazon once the return was done and they would see how they could make things right.. I reach back out to the seller to advise I didn't appreciate for myself or future customers purchasing that the return policy did not list the customer would be responsible for shipping if returned.. How easy for the seller to go ahead and make sure in the return policy that it stated the customer would be responsible for shipping if returned.. most of us have Amazon prime and do you get free delivery and majority of everything I've ever returned if any have never had a fee attached to it.. I do understand this item is heavy however I did pay well over $10 in taxes alone and well over $200 for the item to be received on my end so we're not talking chump change.. After reading more into the reviews there were a lot of folks advising that the trailer tips over for the larger or heavier animals.. If you are considering definitely look into that as well just as a precaution and continue to read the rest of the reviews regarding the material and the customer service of the seller.. At this point I've emailed the seller and requested them to go ahead and waive the shipping as a courtesy since it wasn't listed but I'm not sure where exactly I'll get at the moment and more than likely I'll end up having to pay to ship it back which probably will run anywhere from $50 or so that they say they will be deducting from the credit of course.. Hopefully this review helps
