I do a lot of floor stretching and some yoga. This mat does the job, and I have it sitting directly on an unfinished plywood floor. I bought this for a sort of "zen space" for yoga and meditation. I'm using it almost as a rug liner under an area rug, so it's usually out of sight. Then when it's time for yoga, I roll that up and my mat is ready to go on the hardwood. I can't think of a single complaint. The purple is lovely. It has a nice amount of cushion without impacting balance. It laid almost flat right away (just put light weight on folding corners for a few hours - I used a meditation cushion and bolster so it wouldn't be heavy enough to leave dents). Bonus is I got this as a warehouse deal for almost 50% off. It said there was damage on top, but I find it's often worth taking a chance. In this case, no damage at all. It doesn't even look like it was ever unboxed. My guess is someone saw damage to the box and didn't bother opening it to check the item. Their loss though. This is a great mat! ... show more

I found a great yoga class on Zoom during the pandemic ... but the hardwood floor in the room with my desktop computer was making it very awkward and uncomfortable to participate. I have two regular size yoga mats, but I had to keep moving them this way and that so I could see the screen, be on camera, and do the movements as instructed. Often, my arms and legs would land on the very hard floor. This large yoga mat is the perfect solution. I still use the smaller yoga mats when I need extra cushioning. But I am comfortable with this mat alone most of the time. I never walk on it with shoes. I roll it up on days when people with shoes plan to come into my computer room/"yoga studio." ... show more
