We recently moved into a new home, and I staked out the unfinished bed/mechanical/storage room in the basement as my home gym space. I wanted to put some exercise flooring over the smooth, hard concrete to relieve pressure on my feet and joints during workouts and also feel more reassured when lowering weights and equipment. With interlocking pads, I was afraid of them shifting along the concrete, and I didn't want to put in the effort of adhering them. So I was hoping that a single mat this size would fit the bill as something durable, heavy, and thick enough to fit the bill. And I'm thrilled that it pretty much does! It arrived in a box that looked like it passed through a warzone, so I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the product itself inside was still in perfectly brand new condition. It arrives nicely rolled up with three velcro straps, in a plastic liner, all slid into the very nifty carrying case! I don't think I will ever be rolling this up and relocating it, but it's nice to know I can -- especially because despite being very large, it is not terribly heavy. It is not super thick and cushy -- I will still still use a yoga mat on top of it for any exercises on the floor. But it is a zillion times better than bare floor, appears to be very durable, lays flat very well after unrolling, and so far seems heavy enough to hold its position on the floor as I move around it without me needing to apply double-sided tape or something similar. Very very pleased with this mat, especially at this size and price.

The look, feel and quality of the mat material is great. The cut of the mat is awful - none of the 4 corners are even close to being square. I was hoping to tuck this mat up against the walls in a corner of a room and it is way off (and yes, my walls are perfectly square). At this price point, I'd expect square cuts. If you are wondering if this style of a 7mm mat is right for you..... I found it to be good for most types of exercises. However, if you plan to use it for exercises that require a lot of time on your knees or hips, you'd be better off going with a thicker mat with more cushion. I would recommend a 1/2" thick interlocking/puzzle piece mat.

The size is one of the largest available and fit great in my garage. It is durable enough for exercising. We use our terra-glide rolling on it, a bench chair sits on it and we have done stretching and yoga. It’s great although I’d love it just slightly thicker.

I have used this Extra Large Exercise Mat 12' x 6' x 7mm for a few months now, and I can honestly say it is one of the best investments I have ever made. It's been great for my home gym flooring and workouts. The mat is really thick and comfortable at 7mm, yet still durable enough to handle all types of workouts. I use it for plyo, MMA, jump rope, HIIT, and weightlifting, and the mat has held up like a champ. It's sturdy and its non-slip surface ensures that you won't slip even when things get sweaty. i love this mat for so many different things! we used this in a room under a playpen where we welped puppies and it was a game changer for protecting our floors from moisture. after that we used it in the garage as a home gym floor and we loved it so much because again our floors were protected from dropping weights and our feet were supported by the cushion which helped with foot pain after standing on it for long periods of time. it rolls up and down easily and its a nice quality material. priced fair and very useful overall! would also be perfect in a kids playroom or in a kids playpen to cushion a baby's falls.
