I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!!! IT IS WAAAY BETTER THAN THE WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN EXPECTING book!!! I used it for both of my pregnancies 3y ago and 19m ago and totally enjoyed reading about what my little one was doing THAT day. My hubby and I read it every night as it corresponded to the pregnancy day. When I delivered my first at 38wks 3days I wrote her birthday on the page leaf for that day. With my son, he came at 40wks and 1 day. I totally loved all the information that the book provided about nutrition, what I may be feeling, WHAT THE BABY WAS DOING AND LOOKING LIKE IN UTERO that day! The photos are AMAZING!! It was so reassuring and it told me what I should be asking my doctor at that visit and/or what tests are usually done and why. Really great book. I have a good friend who’s daughter is pregnant and I thought about loaning her my book but decided against it because it really is better for her to have her own book to make notes in, etc. So I bought this one for her. I hope they never stop making it. As for mine, I’ll hand it down to my daughter when she starts her family. Overall, I TRIPLE recommend it!! ... show more

I really like this usability and digestibility of this book. No book is going to be 100% in line with your beliefs or preferences, but I found it just right for a springboard to research topics in further detail that I found interesting or relevant to my case. All the pictures were helpful for me, too, because I’m a visual person. Also, the Glow Nurture app just takes all of its articles from this book, so don’t pay for the app and get this book instead; it’s a lot more cost effective. ... show more

Very informative book, geared especially towards new parents/mothers. Very scientifically-based, with plenty of pictures, diagrams, etc. Lots of resources and suggestions on mother's health/fitness etc sprinkled through out. Several pages discuss what to expect for certain procedures like sonograms, doplar, etc. The only thing I was disappointed that it was missing was information about which visits or a schedule of what to expect for which visits I would have blood work, tests, and vaccination suggestions ... show more

My wife and I would read this together every day. It is a nice way to keep up with what is going on day-by-day. If you are looking for something with a lot of medical detail, this is not the book for you. This skims the surface as deep as anyone in the general public would need to go.

This book is an average book, but good to have as a first time mom not wanting to over burden herself with internet searches. A lot of the information is available on free apps or will be what your doctor ultimately tells you anyway. It caters to moms of one or more babies so if you’re having a single baby, there is unneeded information on twins and triplets and vice versa. A lot of pictures make it fascinating and keep you reeled in to read. There are sizes of the baby printed at the end of each week in the first trimester section. There is also definitions of just about every term you’ll need to know or hear and extra information on different screenings and testings. ... show more

Came across this book while trying to conceive and Im so glad I did. Coming from a medical background, this book was so well written, my non-medical husband was able to comprehend everything. Once finding out we were pregnant, we began reading this day by day, giving us something to look forward to every night. Its amazing to see how your baby is developing day by day. I felt even more connected to my baby knowing the exact stages she was going through in the development process. Thank you to the writers of this book. I think everyone should have one! ... show more

    • there's alot to know about a pregnancy!
this book was really fun and exciting for our first pregnancy. we read it together every day or every couple of days. alot of the material seemed a bit repetitive or would just be slightly differently worded from the day before. It would maybe be helpful to summarize this rich content into weeks, and have a chapter on each week rather than a page or two for every day of the pregnancy. At one point the length of content for one day just seemed excessive. still glad we got it, and we will re-gift it to other new expecting mothers in the future. ... show more

I absolutely love this book! There is a page to read for every single day of your pregnancy. My husband enjoys reading with me each night. It’s a great way to stay engaged and educated on what’s going on with baby. A lot of the pages tend to be a little repetitive however, it’s still fun to read everyday.
