I purchased this 42" crate a year ago for my pup at a local pet store. Lightweight for its size and easy to assemble or collapse if you need to transport it. I found the same crate on Amazon for a wayyyy better price when getting ready for welcoming a second pup. The box arrived with a hole in it, which lined up well with the quarter sized hole I found in the tray. I patched it up with duct tape and am going to put a nice fluffy bed on it so didn't seem worth returning or exchanging, as compared to some other reviews, my crate arrived relatively unscathed. Note that I use these as quiet time caves for the dogs to hang out in my home office during my work hours. They have Ruff Land XLs for when I leave and they need to actually stay in their crate. If you have a smart pup, they will figure out the "lift and slide" lock after watching you use it a few times.

I have used many crates in the past and there is one feature I really like about this crate. In august we got our new family member and since then he has out grown his crate so it was time to buy a bigger one. I also have 2 toddlers that love to open the crate for him. With this crate, it has a feature that in order to open and close the crate, you have to lift the door up to open or close. I love this security feature for the safety of my children and our sweet fur baby!!

I had difficulty assembling. I've dealt with lots of different crates and didn't have these problems. I'm still not positive the back panel is correct, but I pinched my fingers a few times and it is good enough for me as it is. Even if I made mistakes, it is a very strong, secure crate. My cockapoo will not be using it much, but I will be gone a long time one day shortly and set up the laundry room for her security and comfort. I may use it in the car also.

I like that you are able to open the crate two different ways. You have to lift up on the door to open and close it which is a little of a hassle but makes it more secure. The smaller door has the brand as a sticker above the door which is peeling off. I wish they didn’t put that on the crate. I had to take the sticker off but it left behind remanence of the sticker so I now I need to find a way to cover it. Also the separator for inside the crate is kind of silly and I threw it away immediately. It was easy to assemble the crate.

I got the 36” crate for my ~30 lbs leggy Kelpie mix when it was on a good sale. All my dog does is sleep in there, she’s not an escape artist and isn’t distressed in the crate, so I don’t know how this crate holds up against escape artists or destructive dogs. My dog loves her crate and if I can’t find her in the house, it’s because she’s put herself back to bed in her crate upstairs. The crate was easy to set up, I’ve only run into one sharp edge on the wire and it’s on the outside in a spot that isn’t a risk to my dog. I like the locking mechanism on the crate: you have to lift the door up to lock/unlock it in addition to using the latch. This crate is lightweight (12.7 lbs) so it’s easy to move around if that’s something you’re looking for. I have another 36” crate from a different brand that’s about twice as heavy (25 lbs) as this crate and is a pain to move around due to its weight. The only thing I don’t like about this crate is that the side door (at least on my particular crate) doesn’t stay open on its own and for some reason my dog doesn’t think she can just nudge the door further open with her nose. An easy remedy for me was to use a command hook on a nearby piece of furniture to hold the door open (see pic).
