Its a beautiful journal. My only complaint is, I Wish when the latch is being put on? Whoever would make sure it is a proper closure. Mine is gollywhopped and makes it difficult to close and lock easily.

My kids ages, 12, 10, and 8 years old loved this journal, the lock is sturdy and unique. We ordered 3 and each of the three locks have different keys, so no one can open anyone else's journal. The craftsmanship is beautiful. All the kids were so excited to use begin using their new journal.

    • When you get the leather wet the ink will smear and turn your hands blue.
Overall it is a good product, a lot of paper and the leather is nice. This outside is durable. Just be careful not to get it wet because I had gotten a tiny bit of water on the outside and touched it and the blue dye got all over my hands. Other than that It's a great journal.

    • Blue dye rubbing off?
I’m giving three stars because it’s cute and it’s the look that I was wanting but.. when I write I noticed my fingers have blue dye on the where I was holding the journal. I hate that. Obviously I already wrote in it so I won’t be returning it but disappointed with that.

    • This Book Works
This book works. The pages are thick and the pens I use (that usually bleed thru paper) doesn't bleed thru the page. The pages are also blank, which I like. The lock seems to be sturdy, and more importantly it works. The book has a nice design, even with a few imperfections. (Like some markings on the back). I will warn that, on the front and back page of the book, some of the blue dye rubbed off from the sides to the paper. It's very minimal, and the dye is only at the very top and bottom of the page. The rest of the pages has none of the dye, and the dye does not bleed thru to the other side of the page. Everything you see in the pictures represents what you will get, so you shouldn't be surprised by anything. If you are looking for a book with blank pages and a lock, this product will work for you. ... show more

Bought for my teen granddaughter, the spine that hold the pages needs support (glue and paper strip inserted) or it will fall apart. Nice leather binding.
