I use this to keep the battery of my riding lawn mower charged and it works great. I use extra wire purchased from Lowe’s to extend the cable because the shed is covered by trees so I had to run the solar panel about 30’ away. We purchase this for our chicken coop door with a 6V battery. This was easy to install and works great. We travel and have had issues with the batteries running low while we were away and the chickens were stuck in the coop. This solar panel has eliminated that for us. Perfect addition to our coop!

I connected it yesterday for a few hours and had it in constant California sun all day today and it hasn't charged the battery. The indicator light was red when first connected and continues red now. An email support request was answered by Dannie who said red means panel is under the sun and blue means it is charging and that it will show green when charged. Very disappointed in the product and said so to Dannie who has now disappeared. Further - the aligator clips for attaching to battery terminals are not made for connecting to 6v lead-acid battery terminals. They have to be forced wide enough because they only open about a quarter inch. I am 3 hours roundtrip by car to nearest UPS location so returning it would cost a small fortune in fuel. Why does Amazon not QC vendors or at least restrict the nonperforming ones? Update I am increasing my rating to 4 stars. It took a long time for the initial charge but is now working fine. The reason for not rating higher is the tiny aligator clips that required help to connect. I couldn't open them wide enough to grab the battery posts. ... show more

    • Plastic mount breaks in high wind.
Panel is a good charger for 6v battery. Cold temps and 45 miles winds broke the mount, not repairable.
