Both the impact driver and drill have narrower bodies than my Craftsman V20 set. That is good for when you have to use these tools in tight spaces. They are both comfortable to grip and to use, although I prefer some rubber grip on the front side of the handle too. Both tools have a variable speed triggers that control the speed with how much you pull on the trigger. Both have LED lights that will remain on for approx 15-20 seconds after you lift your finger off of the triggers… this seems to be a common feature with these newer tools and it is something that makes a lot of sense. The set comes with two 20V batteries so that you can power both tools at the same time or charge one while using the other one. The batteries have a button with a three segment LED bar meter to indicate the charge level. They arrived with one LED of charge, but they charged quickly in a little over an hour and a half each. These batteries are common to the 20V Powerworks cordless tools so you can swap batteries between them if you need to. The charger is just a plug that slides onto the battery contacts with two charging status LED's. I kinda prefer the chargers that have a table top base that the battery snaps into, but this charger works as it was intended. Another reviewer posted a video of the sparks that you get from the motor brushes when you pull the trigger. You also get a whiff of ionized air from those sparks (strong electric smell). Some people have a reaction to ionize air, so if you do, you may want to look at a different brand. The motor sparking seems excessive even when compared to my cheaper Black and Decker 18V cordless drill. My Craftsman V20 set are brushless, so they don't have any sparks. This would be a great set to use on the weekend project or for a gift to your friends or family that has an occasional use for these tools. A professional that uses these tools daily would be better off with real "pro" tools. ... show more

    • Pretty nice combo if you ask me

I don't have much experience with drills, so it took me a while to come up with a lot to say about this combo set up. I haven’t used these drills for much around the house except small jobs such as taking things a part or tightening up a screw here and there, but I can say these drills have a good feel of quality. The only thing I’m not a fan of is that the motors make quite a spark when you pull the triggers. The impact driver I have not done much with but what I can say is that it would probably not be suitable for auto work and I can say with certainty if you wanted to remove bolts on a vehicle such as brake caliper mounts forget it. Anything else in the house is good though. I plan on using these soon to hang a and install a new ceiling fan when I do some support bracket mounting which I have no doubt will perform nicely. You get a drill bit Phillips and flathead for both drills, but I would advise buying a complete drill kit with all bits and screw heads separately since the bits included seem cheap. Both drills have a build in LED light for seeing in tight spaces and are smaller in general to get in those tight spaces. The batteries come in a pair with a single charger and have LED charge status lights built in, so you can see how much reserve power you have left. As for battery life I can’t say. The problem is I haven’t had much come up that requires the use of a drill yet thus why it took me a while to even write this much. I will update this review after I do some more work with them and then I’ll have more to say. But bottom line they should be able to tackle many jobs around and outside the house. ... show more

    • Alot of torque and long battery life.

This cordless drill set are pretty nice. They look a little small but have alot of torque. The impact drill, it is easy to put the bits in and they snap in so they dont fall out while working. The reg drill has 1-10 setting so you dont over tighten your screw or if you are drilling a hole switch it to the drill mode so it dosnt stop if it binds a little. The rubber grip on the backs make it nice so the drills dont slip out of your palm while you are working. The led light on them are bright enough if you are in low light you can see what you are working on so you dont have to get a head lamp or flash light to see what you are doing. The 20v batteries dont weigh much at all so when you attach the battery to the drill it dosnt add much weight to the drills. The charger is not a quick charge so it does take a few hr to charge a battery. The battery charger has a pretty long cord about 6 foot so there is plenty of length to stretch to a outlet if it's not real close by. The battery last quit a bit when using the drill. The case it comes with is pretty nice case. You can fit everything in the case, with more room for drill bit and torque bits to keep all your stuff togeather. ... show more

I recently ordered some things to hang on my wall and was happy to find this set! I bought it more for the drill than the impact driver. I am also not very knowledgeable or experienced with tools. I found this pretty easy to use. It arrived with some battery power but i charged both batteries before using. I was a little surprised by the spark when i used the drill. Overall i think this will last a while for my small jobs around the house or backyard. I appreciated the black case that it came with as i feel like the items will take up less space when stored. It is a soft case with a small amount of cushion. Not a hard frame in the case but it holds its shape. ... show more

I'd have given these 3 stars, but the price is excellent. The quality is okay, they aren't as nice as our craftman set, which isn't even that great. But these are half the price. If you are just starting out, or need a budget set they get the job done. Make sure to always have a battery charging if both aren't full. We've made the mistake of leaving them partly charged in each tool before, and poof you are waiting 90minutes because both batteries were mostly empty when you started. ... show more
