Use this in our wood shop to pick up dust that certain machines leave all over the place. Really works well, and quickly for open floor areas. Keeps dust from flying up all over the place like a vacuum, but can't get into corners like a blower can. I like it enough to want to get a second one for another room in the shop. One nice thing is that it doesn't have enough suction to pick up items that aren't sawdust. Leaving those items for the vacuum cleaner or broom or hand pickup. Has a nice grate that keeps lighter large items like long slivers and pieces of paper from being sucked into the dust collector. I use this to 'sweep' the shop floor and it does a great job of getting the dust and pieces up and in the hose on the way to the dust collector. The handle is adjustable and it has all stayed together after using a handful of times.

When I ordered this, my intention was to vacuum around my CNC occasionally. In that, it has worked as expected. You attach you vacuum hose to one end and suck up the dust with the other. But this floor sweep tool is less than 6 months old, and has only been used about once a month for 10 min at a time. Yesterday when I was vacuuming, one hand on the handle and one on the end where the hose attaches, and the handle just slid up the tube. Thinking it had come loose, I went to tighten it and discovered the handle attachment collar had cracked right where the bolt goes through. Cr*p! I think I might try to drill extra holes through this portion to reattach the clamp, but this should not happen to an item at this price level. As another reviewer stated, you could make your own with a piece of 4" tube cut at an angle on one end. The only thing that really makes this different is the adjustable handle. ... show more
