These replacement blades are amazing, plus you get two sets for the price you'd pay for one set with the DeWalt name on them!! Don't get me wrong, we are contractors and all our tools are DeWalt, but we have come to learn that consumables (blades, bits, etc) do not have to be DeWalt!!

    • maybe as good as original, maybe not... I tried to return today, but apparently cannot after 30 days, Not sure I'd buy again
1st edge of the new set lasted for 5 oak boards. They wore in the middle quite bad and also wore into ridges all along the blades, which of course left ridges in the wood. I turned the blades to the 2nd side and did 27 poplar boards with no problems. I am going to write the manufacturer and see about replacement blades under a warranty. They were advertised to be as good or better than the original blades. I got 3 years out of the first set of blades, so.... We will see how it's handled. They sent me replacement blades and so far, they are working good. I raised the start rating for customer service and quickness of how handled from 2 to 4.     • Looks like a better deal than straight carbide-insert blades for my stuff.
Well, I had a set of carbide blades and they worked great. But I wore them out after a long time. They DID last a long time. But they gradually, like any blades, became more dull. Thus the last boards I planed got difficult and noisey (duh). Now those blades rose from $128 to $156 per set (of 3). With 2 sets of Powertec blades I get 4 new edges (in sets of 3) for $70 or 8+ new edges for the price of the carbide-insert blades. But now I get fresh edges 8 times as often as the carbide blades. I don't mind changing the blades, it just takes 10 minutes. So I like this deal better than getting more carbides. I think I'd go with Shelix before I'd pay for the straight carbides for this DeWalt 735 planer. But I'm just a (cheap) hobbyist, so I went with these. ... show more

I am on my third set of these blades. I have used DeWalt blades (two sets) and these are pretty similar. The third set has not been as good as the previous two sets, not sure why. I will probably try the more expensive DeWalt blades and see if they are more consistent on the next blade change. However, given that everything is contract manufactured in China nowadays, it is possible that the DeWalt blades come from the same factory. What do I do with the old blades? I use them for hand scraping. ... show more

Loved the price of these blades but completely disappointed with the quality/outcome. Purchased three sets of these and had the same results with all three. Was able to plane six boards (12”x20” each) taking an 1/8” off of each one combined between the three sets and nothing more. Maybe it was dumb luck but will never purchase these again. ... show more

This is for six blades in total for only a little more than the average price of three. Blade jigs are easily available to assist with sharpening these blades two at a time. The biggest problem with trying to sharpen for a three blade machine is the jig that must use two blades. So with that being said the easiest way around that problem is to have an extra set of six blades. Doing so will still allow you to keep three sharp blades on your machine at all times. Once you have six dull blades you can then take time out at your convenience to sharpen all six in one sitting. ... show more

I’ve used many different 3rd party planer blades the last 15 years. These are the only blades that were absolutely worthless. Within a few feet of walnut or maple, these blades left deep score lines. I tried three new sides with same results. It took a lot of sanding to get rid of the lines left by these blades. Pure junk. ... show more
