This is my first year using this in the Midwest where we recently got clobbered. A wet heavy snow will throw about 10" depth of snow about 15 or 20 feet, and a dry snow will make a rooster tail about 30' high and throw the snow 30 or 40 feet, depending on wind. It is loaded with safety features, which can be annoying until you get used to them. For example, when you back up the snow throwing gear stops. To restart, it MUST be in forward. Backward is slower than a baby can crawl, so almost everyone pulls it back instead of using reverse. Probably the most annoying feature is the extremely short period of time you get between using functions. If you don't have something running for about 2 seconds, the machine shuts itself off, requiring a restart. That's only annoying because when you're wearing thick gloves, it will test your patience. Overall it's an excellant product and I would buy it again, but I wish reverse was more useful. ... show more

The snow blower shuts down after 10 seconds of running. Every single time. I had to have a neighbor come plow our driveway. It’s the worst snow blower I’ve ever seen. Does not work at all. Would give 0 stars if I could. Spent all this money for nothing.

This snowblower was extremly easy to assemble. And it has done good so far for 2 snow storms. The first had @ 6 inches of heavy snow and the snow blower performed cery good. Not as powerful as my 9.5 hp gas snow blower but good enough to clean the driveway. I would recommend getting a spare battery as it lat around 40-45 minutes. ... show more

While assembly is pretty easy, the bolts are all different sizes (metric). Also, cable management is unclear and there is NO Customer Service available for this blower. Finally, the packing was subpar, and the blower arrived with one bent component that we had to correct so it wouldn’t interfere with the auger rotation. The box and cardboard were intact so we think it might not have been the shipper but how the unit was packed. ... show more

THIS SNOW BLOWER WORKS AWESOME AND HAS EXCELLENT SPEED, BUT WITHOUT SPRAYING IT, IT QUICKLY BUILDS UP WITH SNOW THROUGHOUT. OTHERWISE I AM STILL GETTING FAMILIAR WITH HOW TO USE AND WORK IT. IT IS AN AWESOME MACHINE AND WORKS EXCELLENT. PUTTING IT TOGTHER WAS A BIT TRYING AS WELL BUT I LOVE THE FACT THAT THE SELLER WAS SO PROMPT IN MAKING THINGS RIGHT AND THEN I PUT IT TOGETHER BY MYSELF. The media could not be loaded. I assembled the snowblower earlier this week and then set the battery to charge. This morning I rolled it out of the garage to use it, for the first time, and the auger wouldn't turn. I investigated by taking off the chute and found an incorrect length bolt had been used and blocked the rotation of the second stage (first picture). With a shorter bolt the 2nd stage turned. I then tried running it again, and the left most auger section sheared off it's shear pin. Upon investigating I found that the auger blade was hitting another bolt head (video). I'm now debating on fixing this problem by replacing that bolt, but then what? It's a brand new machine. I'm not sure I would trust Powersmart again after shipping a product that was put together erroneously and not tested. ... show more

    • Forward Motion and Snow Clearing
Size: 24" 80V Snow Blower
The assembly is straight forward with easy to follow instructions. The snow shoot controls work OK but time will tell if they are durable. The control instructions are not clear. I found that if the drive seed control is set to the middle position the motor shuts down. Unlike a conventional snow blower the forward motion does not behave in a set a speed and the motion is constant, instead the forward motion is also controlled by the amount of snow being cleared in heavy wet snow the mothion stops intil the snow is cleared from the auger. This results in a variable speed forward motion depending on the consistency of the snow being cleared. Once I realised this was the behaviour I stopped trying to get the machine running at a constant forward speed. After a heavy wet snowstorm, the blower did an excellent job clearing the slushy mess. Another initially confusing factor is thet in changing from forward to reverse the machine shuts down and the control needs to be set for the required direction of travel and the start procedure followed. Once these ehaviours are understood this is an excellent snow blower especially with it's ability to handle wet heavy snow as well as the drier lighter stuff! I'd recommend buying a second battery, I have a 90 yard long driveway and the one battery was just enough to clear 8 ft wide path of heavy wet stuff. It is easy to hande and relatively light. The user manual could use an update to explain how this differs from a conventional snow blower. ... show more
