I had an electric Toro snowblower for a few years but it just was not powerful enough so most of the time I didn't use it and last year it died. It look like this one would be more powerful and yes it certainly is so far I have been very happy with it we've had two occasions to use it and at first it had a electrical burning smell but that soon cleared up and it's been working well even in this last heavy wet 8 inches of snow so I'm happy! It is very easy to use this unit. It is light and maneuverable. I used it on concrete side walks and it worked flawlessly!!! I also used it on the lawn with about 6 inches of snow. It struggled a little and took two passes but it did the job. To be fair, I dont believe it is designed to work on dirt. But it did. It shoots snow pretty far. I used it on ice too, it scrapped the ice and took whatever snow but it cant take ice obviously. ... show more

    • Totally unmaneuverable from poor scraper design

The PowerSmart 21 Snow Blower is totally useless. Brand new out of the box: First the bottom scraper is slightly bowed up in the middle so a bunch of snow is kicked back behind. Second, that scraper severely drags against the concrete where you can't push the machine forward without lifting it slightly. Then it becomes very hard to control and keep straight. These problems appear to be by poor design and not defect. I am immediately returning this unit. I had two other machines from Toro and Snow Joe which both worked much better but wore out and I couldn't find replacement parts (thrower blades). So I thought I would buy the cheapest and perhaps live with less performance, but not if its inoperable by poor design. ... show more

    • Almost perfect
The handlebar is a little awkward for me as I would have prefered handlebars to be adjustable and a little higher.Otherwise great. We have had 2 snowfalls. One was mixed with rain and as this is only a one-stage it clogged the chute 4 times but all you do is push the wet slush back to the blade and keep on going. You do this with blower off. The 2nd snowfall was heavy and sat for 2 days until I could get at it. Average was 6" with some spots 12" and never had a problem.Oh and also as this does not have a crank to change the direction of the chute I found turning it by hand was easy and faster. ... show more

Easy to assemble and works fine on light fluffy snow. Forget using it on even slightly frozen snow. Very hard to push, the wheels do nothing.

Wasn’t enough snow this time around. maybe a bigger snow storm. To show how well it works. Since wasn’t a whole lot. It was some young boys. Looking to earn their money in a more positive way. So hubby & myself agreed . To allow them to earn the money the right way. Showing them. You have too make money the positive way. With out saling drugs, robbing,& taking from anyone.
