Charging AAs and AAAs is perfectly easy. Use a USB charger that delivers at least 2 amps 5vdc, more will charge faster. *First, charger immediately indicates if battery is properly taking the charge (Red LED battery symbol, is already charged (symbol turns green) or is defective or reversed (alternate flashes red or green). Unlike other chargers that take a few moments to say if the battery is defective, this one registers almost immediately. *Second, the form factor is very compact. My old 4 cell charger took too much space in my storage box. This is not that much wider and longer than the up to 8 batteries it can charge, and it's low profile. It fits the box easily with all the batteries - rechargeable, alkaline, or other - that i have to keep on hand. *Third, it charges anywhere from one to eight batteries, no having to pair. It's easy, works great with any USB wall wart (higher output is better, and no compromise of function vs. size.

1.) I HAD 83 AA & AAA EVEREADY ENERGIZER RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES IN A BAG READY TO BE DISCARDED AT THE HOME DEPOT BIN. 2.) I HAD CHARGED ALL OF THEM WITH THE EVEREADY ENERGIZER FAST CHARGER MODEL CH15MN2 AND THE EVEREADY ENERGIZER SLOW 8 HOUR CHARGER MODEL CHP41US. 3.) BOTH CHARGERS DESIGNATED THOSE 83 BATTERIES AS BEING NO LONGER CHARGEABLE. 4.) THE FAST CHARGER SHOWED A RED FLASHER AND THE SL0W CHARGER SHOWED RED X'S. 5.) NEITHER EVEREADY ENERGIZER CHARGER WOULD CHARGE THE EVEREADY ENERGIZER BATTERIES. 6.) I BOUGHT THE POWEROWL CHARGER FY-828 (THE MODEL DESIGNATION IS HILARIOUS) 7.) AS AN EXPERIMENT I TOOK 8 OF THOSE SO DESIGNATED 'UNCHARGEABLE' BATTERIES, AND I INSTALLED THEM IN THE POWEROWL FY-828. 8.) WHAT CAN I SAY? E U R E K A !? A B R A C A D A B R A ?! One thing that was unexpected: how the batteries insert into this version. I thought they would snap in like similar chargers, but instead I have to manually lift the bottom contact away with one hand, while I insert AAA batteries with the other. It's a minor adjustment/difference to use this charger but was unexpected. Otherwise, works as expected and allows me to charge more AA/AAA batteries at the same time. Before, I was limited to 4 total batteries at a time with my other charger. I am using both Amazon and Energizer brand ni-cad rechargeable batteries in this charger.

I purchased this POWEROWL AA AAA Battery Charger 8 Bay a few months ago and I have been very pleased. I've owned many chargers, and this is by far the best one. It does not get hot, it charges multiple brand batteries (AA and AAA), and it's been a great value at its low price point. If you like spending money, buy regular batteries in a store. If you like to SAVE MONEY, this is your go-to rechargeable battery charger for AA & AAA batteries. I highly recommend this charger.

My other older charger needs 2 batteries in the bays to charge so I can't charge just 1 battery or an odd number like 3. With this charger I can charge 1 battery or an odd number. It isn't as fast charging as my older battery but it gets the job done and I can charge quite a few batteries at one time. It's easy to use. The older charger plugs directly into wall socket and this one used a USB C cord so that may make a difference. So far no complaints except the slower charging.

Definitely not big but perfect to be able to hang up on something. The battery life is really good and doesn't overcharge the batteries. Lights are clear to see. It's definitely worth it.

Although I wasn’t able to use in what I bought them for, I appreciate the level indicator that shows when charging. One day I’ll find a use for them.
