Having a 30+ year old Blazer with aftermarket fog lights, dual headlight mod and of course summertime HEAT (running a/c). All of which draw a lot of power, not to mention stereo blasting and upgrade to electric fans. Bought this to upgrade the factory alternator on my 1995 4WD Suburban. I highly recommend verifying the position of the existing alternator connections with this alternator before attempting installation. In some cases, you may need to re-clock the alternator housing to match your current setup. I had to do it in my case...remove the alternator pulley, remove the housing screws, and rotate the housing 90 degrees. Easy enough to do. If it was strictly plug-n-play in my case, I'd have given it 5 stars. ... show more

I have yet to put a lot of miles on it but it looks like a quality item. This alternator came with a custom charging ground cable guide for wire size which is very helpful. You can purchase their wires or make your own. Also attached to the alternator was a proof of performance giving the idle cruise and top end and output in amps. Item was boxed well for shipping. Bought for my 95 chevy k1500, had to clock it, but otherwise fit perfectly and fairly easy to install. Had to buy 2 4ft 6gauge cables and 2 side terminal extenders to hook up to the battery. Just installed yesterday, working great so far.

The battery and alternator burnt up in my 1992 K1500. Had them checked at Advance Auto parts and the tech told me the battery was dead and the alternator (AC Delco, 2 years old) was only putting out 8-9 volts at 2000 rpm and needed to be 14.6 for that vehicle. Had trouble finding one that would do that. Found this Powermaster on Amazon, made in the USA (Houston, TX) and installed with no problems. At 2000 RPM, running two electric fans, AC compressor and trailer lights on a 300-mile trip today, the lowest it dropped was 14.4. Will keep monitoring it as have several more longer trips coming up. ... show more

Ok so lots of reviews hear knocking it for having to clock it but I didnt have to for a early 90s GM 4.3 accessory bracket it worked fine...there is also some reviews about it under performing at "hot idle".... so far the hottest day since I've had the alternator was 88 degrees(not too hot) and I didnt have any issues this alternator is also handling a huge load x2 electric fans x2 motor home water pumps and full 1000w stereo system with subwoofers i also had the wipers on and the AC and blower motors along with all the lightsand it still held 13.8v at the hottest idle I could produce in almost fall in virginia ....my only complaint was the lack of the grounding hole bolt....after rummaging through my bucket of bolts I had to go to home depot to get one and it turned out I had several the threads were just a little tight....but its was fine it was 15 cents for the bolt... all in all this is a good alternator for the price and I'd did fine for me but time will tell especially next summer ... show more

This alternator has been nothing but effective on my 1995 GMC Sierra, only "issue" I had was the frame ground was clocked in the wrong position so I just a wire to another point on my frame
