I needed a higher power alternator for my 1985 GMC Jimmy, w/SBC350, after installing a Holley Sniper and electric fans. This solved my power issues.

Buyer he warned!!!!!! Fire whoever said this fits a 1979 ford f150 or bronco. Mounting location depths are incorrect. Bolt holes are incorrect. Size and location room for installation are incorrect. Pulley size and v-pattern are incorrect. If you buy this be prepared to fabricate everything you need to mount it and connect it to a 79 ford anything. I did it and it was not an issue because I can fabricate. Knowing this now I could have purchased countless better and cheaper alternators considering I had to completely fabricate everything.

Nice piece. Black coating they use looks durable. The lower housing hole is 3/8 and the holes in my 454 heads are 7/16. I wish they oversized the hole and sleeve it so you can just punch the sleeve out if you have 7/16 threaded holes in your heads. I am going to just drill it out to 7/16 but I'm sure that voids warranty.

Works well, fits as expected, keeps 14 + volts with all my off road and search lights on, After 10 minutes it was barely warm. Very happy with my purchase and it’s made in the USA, not some Chinese garbage.

If your looking for a top notch alternator this is it, it comes with a individual tested amp card for idle, mid range and full out. Make sure you do not over rev, the instructions give you a table to check this. I for one had to change out the pulley because I run a under drive crankshaft pulley and had done the math previously. I had been running a 100 amp alternator but the car was struggling, fuel pump, dual fans, dual vacuum pumps, plus all the non standard ignition stuff. I installed the Powermaster 57294 150 amp and my troubles are over, the fuel pump doesn't drop down and lag any longer. Best deccession I made.

If this alternator doesn't last but for the warranty duration, I'd be satisfied with my purchase! By far, it's a definite upgrade from the stock OEM version. I have LEDs galore both inside and out and couldn't run certain multiple lights at the same time. That is until now! And that's not even factoring in the sound system. At idle with 3 sets of spot lights turned on this thing had a 100 amp output. That was more than the OEM put out without any lights and going down the road. They have a customer for life right here!
