Great product. Does what I wanted. Keep yj with a sbc. Needed to keep 14 volts at idle to make sure my electric fan ran properly. Does just that. No more dropping down below 12 volts at idle. Battery stays charged. Used to have to charge it every 3 weeks. I am usually running at low rpms so this has been money well spent. Had it on for about 6 weeks now. No issues ... show more

I have purchased two. The first would not charge at an idle. I thought I must have messed up my brand-new alternator since I had a battery charger on the battery while I had it running (my bad...totally forgot). I purchased another new one thinking it would not be honest if I tried to warranty it. Put the new one one...drove 15 miles to a cruise. Charging 14.2 cruising, 13.5 when cooling fans were running. Got to cruise, boom. No charge. Belt is tight, wire is intact and tight (checked for continuity too). I would not purchase again. ... show more

Nice piece. Black coating they use looks durable. The lower housing hole is 3/8 and the holes in my 454 heads are 7/16. I wish they oversized the hole and sleeve it so you can just punch the sleeve out if you have 7/16 threaded holes in your heads. I am going to just drill it out to 7/16 but I'm sure that voids warranty. ... show more

If this alternator doesn't last but for the warranty duration, I'd be satisfied with my purchase! By far, it's a definite upgrade from the stock OEM version. I have LEDs galore both inside and out and couldn't run certain multiple lights at the same time. That is until now! And that's not even factoring in the sound system. At idle with 3 sets of spot lights turned on this thing had a 100 amp output. That was more than the OEM put out without any lights and going down the road. They have a customer for life right here! ... show more

Had a power issue on my Jeep with a AMC 360 and DUI distributor. Upgraded to this alternator and don’t have any more problems, it makes plenty of power for the engine, lights, and accessories. Works well, fits as expected, keeps 14 + volts with all my off road and search lights on, After 10 minutes it was barely warm. Very happy with my purchase and it’s made in the USA, not some Chinese garbage.
