    • GREAT for the price, disappointing shoulder buttons
These are great, with the limitation that the L1/L2 triggers trigger towards the very bottom of the throw which can be a problem for platforming. So not a great choice for those Ratchet & Clank combo jumps but otherwise a well built quality controller. Great analog sticks, which are a tad heavier spring than OEM, as good or better than any brand name third party replacement. Buttons are good. The shape fit my aftermarket accessories perfectly. Paired easily with my PS3 and with the BROOK super PS2/1 adapter. I paid $22US for two--the value is amazing.     • Minor Issues
#1 the PS2 Controller turns off at start of a new game load or a disk swap. You just need to turn it on again by pressing the psp center button again. Has happed every time, minor annoyance. My older controllers did not have this issue. Issue #2 Charging a controller will automatically become Controller ONE, even if it was not turned on and connected only to charge, therefore removing and taking over as controller one when you already have controller one turned on. Charging a controller while using controller one turns off controller one and sets the charging controller to controller one. This means you will have to turn off all controllers, start controller one, then plug in the controller you want to charge. This never happened with older controllers. Also if and when controller one is turned off, the charging controlling you just plugged in suddenly becomes controller one even if you didn't turn it on. This is very annoying because you have to start over again. Tested it many times. Can only guess as to why this might happen. #3 Controller is not as heavy as original types. Other than that, the controllers work just fine and are good. Thanks ... show more

To be honest, I didn't buy these controllers to use as intended or even to use on a PS3. But I think they're the most affordable way to build your own custom controller. They work well in Windows and Linux as typical PS3 controllers, and the board is easy to solder to. One thing to watch out for is that there are two common grounds, so be sure to use one ground for L3/R3, Start, Select, PS, and another ground for Triangle, Circle, Square, Cross, D-Up, D-Left, D-Right, D-Down. See my attached pictures for the circuit schematics on how to do that properly. One funny thing I noticed when opening one of the controllers was that one of the vibration motors was missing one of the wires, so it would be impossible for that motor to work (though easily fixable).     • Thumbstick feel is too stiff
They work but small movements are difficult because the springs are too stiff. They tend to be hard to break away from centered position without going too far. If subtle movements aren’t your thing then game on. If you want to drive a motorcycle smoothly in GTA V, then think twice.

I found an old PS3 at a thrift store, so I didn’t want to spend more on controllers than the unit, so this was a good deal. Setup and connection was super easy, and now they just work. The vibration is “meh”, but I didn’t carr about that function. My only gripe is the charging is unclear. I am not sure when they are done charging because the lights just keep flashing. ... show more
