  • Solid Card!
I bought the 7900 GRE to replace a 1080ti I passed down to my son. So far the card is running really well. My system is starting to age but this has brought it new life. I use 3 monitors, but the monitor I game on is a LG 38WN95C-W (3840x1600, 1ms, 144refresh, FreeSync Pro). The picture is crisp, frame rates are high on fairly high settings. anecdotally the card seems to be running cooler and quieter than my old 1080ti even with the massive performance increase. Overall I'm very satisfied with this video cards performance and price. Games I play for reference: COD MW3 (all came types), Star Citizen (for years. I know...), Valheim, Ark, Borderlands, Skyrim (modded for higher resolution) Basic Specs for those that care: Intel i7 5820k at stock speed Asus deluxe motherboard Crucial 4tb NVMe m.2 64gb ram (8x8gb) ... show more

  • Incredible value for 1440p gaming
This card was my first upgrade from my long running GTX 1080. My first impression was that it was massive. I have been out of the market for a long time, but I was shocked at the size of the cooler. However, all that mass does its job to keep the card running incredibly cool, even after manually overclocking the core clock and memory. It runs great out of the box and I paired it with a 5800X3D for an amazing 1440p experience. I received Space Marine 2 bundled with the purchase, and I was able to run on all Ultra settings at ~85fps average. Unless the price of the 7900XT begins to drop significantly, I highly recommend the 7900 GRE for its amazing value and performance. ... show more

  • Go Team Red! You hit the jackpot!
After selling my hybrid 3080 I was torn between Nvidia or Radeon. Ultimately the price of this 7900 GRE (Red Devil) from Amazon warehouse swayed me combined with performance being about the same or better than the 4070Super and close to the 4070Ti Super. It came carefully repackaged and included a support bracket! Install was a cinch (a bit awkward as the card is long) and I was soon mining with my gpu under 65C and hotspot under 75C. I’m not a big gamer, but I’m looking forward to it. FurMark benchmark indicated around 200fps with my monitor set to 1440 and 160Hz with the gpu not going above 60C. I’m very glad I went for Radeon. ... show more

  • The price to performance is Great
I loved the fact that I was able to get a card that could reliably run modern games at 1440p and older games at 4k with good frames. I also loved the little trinkets that came along with the gpu like the gpu anti-sag stand and the sticker that came with the card.

  • Great on paper, but that's where it ends
tl;dr: My experience with this card didn't end well and I recommend just going with nVidia instead. I recently helped my friend build his first desktop gaming PC, and as a way to welcome him into the PC realm I decided to purchase him a graphics card that would both be powerful and last him a good while. Enter: The 7900 GRE. On paper, the Red Devil had everything we wanted: runs cool, 16GB of GDDR6 memory for longevity, looks good (he wanted lights that were adjustable, so this fit the bill), and most of all it's a powerful card. However, one thing made me hesitate initially: The last time I tried a Radeon card admittedly was back in the ATI days and it was not a good experience. My dad and I stuck with 3DFX until nVidia stepped up their game and became a juggernaut almost overnight. Over the years there really didn't seem like a reason to switch to AMD's graphics cards. However, when it comes to bang-for-buck these days, AMD's graphics cards sound like they should be the right choice in a lot of cases. Of course I had heard many things over the years about their drivers not being great, but nVidia's haven't always been flawless either and supposedly AMD's have improved over time. So, with that, I thought that this was a good time to take a chance on an AMD card, especially since my friend's CPU is also AMD. I also read PowerColor was a good producer of AMD cards, and that Sapphire's quality slipped a bit during this generation, so I went with the Red Devil (since it was priced the same as the Hellhound at the time). The card is bigger than any graphics card I've ever handled and it weighs a ton, but they had a nice package for it and included a stand to help hold up the card. It was a really slick setup. That's where my praise ends. The card powered on fine, ran through benchmarks well, and had no issues until he started really playing games. Mind you, I tested a few games beforehand, but it was only for roughly 30 seconds to see if they'd boot and load into the game world. He tried playing past those points on his own and would get a black screen that would follow with a driver time out error. This happened again, and again, and again. I would try remotely messing with the settings, instructed him on what to change in the BIOS, and even purchased new RAM to ensure this set had been tested with the motherboard (as the symptoms of a bad card are similar to bad RAM). No matter what settings we tried, if we used DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), or swapped the out the RAM, we ALWAYS had this issue. I thought to myself, "It's no way it's the graphics card. That's probably the nicest part of this whole rig." Well, on the day I went to install the RAM, I picked up an nVidia 4070 Super from Best Buy just in case installing the new RAM didn't work. Sure enough, we still had the same issue. I then resorted to installing the new nVidia 4070 Super and it worked like a charm. Needless to say, I was very disappointed to find the PowerColor card was apparently faulty. Whose fault is it for the card's defect? AMD or PowerColor? Quite frankly: It doesn't even matter. At this point, I am now steering clear of both companies when it comes to graphics cards. I tried stepping outside the nVidia bubble and was burned for it. Could this happen with nVidia cards too? Absolutely. Has it ever happened to me personally or anyone I actually know? No. In hindsight, I regret getting it for him and not myself because it's one thing if something goes wrong and it's a pain for me, but this was a pain for him and took almost 2 weeks to resolve (due to our schedule differences). He was essentially left without a working gaming PC because of this card. From here on, I have to recommend against PowerColor due to this poor experience and will no longer recommend trying AMD graphics cards. I know they aren't all bad, but this experience cost my friend time and cost me money for return shipping, and it was a whole lot of frustration for the both of us. ... show more

  • Excellent card
Really powerful card, it does excellent fps at 4K hitting about 75 frames with max settings on Rdr2. On 1080 all maxed settings on cyberpunk I was getting about 150 fps native. Cooling wise it’s pretty good on silent it hovered in the 110-130 F range under load.

  • Beast
Love it! So much better than my 2060super and is a very good value to performance. Haven't experienced any driver instability or problems. Was just as plug and play as any Nvidia GPU for me.
