The motor controller does not work. Input voltage and output voltage match. Save yourself some hassle and buy a competing product. Product was also dented on arrival. I've had luck with very similar voltage controllers and ryobi battery adapters. Not a first timer.....

    • Do not buy any kit but this one!!!!!
I bought 2 other kits and controllers. I bought this one to see if all came from one source if it would work correctly and wow this is exactly what I was looking for. My grandsons quad now has speed control and was easy to install. I highly recommend this kit. Well with the money.

    • It works, but its just ok build quality.
Wires for the ryobi battery connector came lose from their solder, appears to have had a cold solder. My daughter has ridden her jeep for a combined 20 minutes before this failed. I will be able to resolder, its just not want you want to see. Im guessing they are typically better quality than this, but thats the only reason I gave it 3 stars. ... show more

Using this kit in a modification project from a 6v to 18v battery conversion was simple and straight forward. I followed the picture on Amazon by the vendor to wire it, and things worked great!
