I randomly stumbled across this item when I was shopping for yet another 12v replacement battery and charger for our boys' Power Wheels (Mustang and Cadillac). I wasn't exactly sure how it would work but I read some of the other reviews that gave an option for connection. I have a picture attached to the review, but basically all I did was cut the wires that went from the car to the battery. I removed some of the sheath to expose the wire. I attached black to black and white to red and secured each with a wing nut. I put my Dewalt 20v 5ah battery into the adaptor, flipped the power switch on the adaptir and off they went. I am actually really shocked by how easy and effective it is. The cars are SO FAST now. I actually made the kiddos put on helmets (which I don't normally do) because of the change in giddy up. I am so happy with this purchase that I had to drop everything and write a review. I wish I had known about this sooner. This method is going to allow my boys to drive much longer and with much more power than before (read: less fighting, crying, etc). They are so happy. They were screaming laughing driving with the new setup. I highly recommend these!

Nice adapter for Dewalt batteries for use with other things. So far used the 20v adapter to replace the battery on a kids electric car to a DeWalt for ease of use and charging, made a portable light with a spare led foglight, and converted a gas gokart to electric with the 60v adapter. Well made and the convience of the power switch and fuse saves me from adding them on.

This is a very simple adapter to use. Hook up was simple. Doing the whole hack and using a Dewalt XR battery REALLY made my son’s power wheels more then twice as fast. HOWEVER, my only complaint is that you are constantly blowing fuses. They do give you a couple to use and at first I didn’t have too much trouble, but about a week in they started blowing one after another. Had to purchase a bundle of them. I can say the stronger battery you use, such as a 8amp vs. a 5amp, the less frequency of change. Also, the heavier your child is seems to make it blow quicker too. For example it happens all the time to my 6 year old, but not as often to my 3 year old. Be sure to tape/strap down everything so it’s not bouncing around because bumpy lawns seem to make the fuses blow as well. If you can get over that hurdle then your kids will love flying around on their new “super” power wheels.

My tester car battery starter/booster was to just direct wire to the car battery with several feet of 18 ga wire and after a minute or two of connection the car battery had enough juice to crank and start. The car started right up, the wire must have regulated the Dewault's 18v output (21v no load after charge) using just the car battery loading, didn't need a voltage regulator ( I put one on anyway in v2). Car battery was probably getting 15 or 16v, enough to charge it in a couple of minutes and allow a strong crank. I did remove the Dewault battery before cranking, no reason to take a chance of going into over voltage (lol).

I didn't end up needing the switch in my design. So i cut it out. Hoping to reuse it. However. The connection at the switch was soldered!! And heat shrinked. Which is awesome if you know anything about electrical. So whom ever made this took that extra step. I was very impressed. Comes with wood screws. Which i didn't need. I needed bolts. Hole size would be super helpful in the description. But not a game changer. I will definitely be buying more of these with a few more projects.

These are super easy to install and make it super easy to quickly swap a dead battery for a charged one. Kid rides for hrs with all the batteries i have and the fast chargers. I put this adapter on 4 different power wheels.
