When my brother bought a new Shopsmith Mark V in 1963, he bought this book with it. I used his Shopsmith some back then and referred to the book often. The book would be useful to any woodworking shop, but is oriented toward the Shopsmith Mark V. In the early 70's I bought a 1954 model Shopsmith and have used it ever since, but did not have the book. I bought this one used from Amazon and am very pleased with it.     • Great Book for an Old Shop Smith
This book was written for the 1955 Mark 5 Shop Smith. Great book if you have a 1955 Mark 5 Shop Smith. My dad bought the Mark 5 shop Smith back in 1956. I grew up with it, and still have it, this book has a lot of useful info for me.

    • Blast from the past.
This book can and should be found at your local thrift or used book store. Not only was it he copyrighted in1955, but it was sold as new at an inflated price. The power tools depicted would be a rare find. Getting past the disappointment, there are techniques here that you won't find anywhere. I was going to return it, but I've decided to keep it. Modern tools I can find anywhere but old pre-modern tools ways of getting the work done are invaluable. UPDATE: I am still conflicted about how much I paid for this book. Therefore, I will be returning it and will pick it up later on for about about 1/3 of the price I paid. ... show more

Power Tool Woodworking for Everyone [Shopsmith Edition] was intended for those who had bought the classic Shopsmith multi-tool woodworking machine. Depending on what accessories you added, it contains a table saw, jig saw, drill press, disc sander, lathe, etc. But if you have just a table saw the book is invaluable because it tells and shows in detail the number of things that can be done with a table saw. It even shows how to make your own attachments to do specific tasks, such as how to make threads on a dowel or how to make a piece of wood curve. It is just as detailed in the use of the drill press and lathe. It may be an old book, but the techniques taught could not be more up to date. ... show more

I am very happy with the book because my husband is happy and it was a gift. It arrived promptly in good condition. He is the new owner of an old ShopSmith Mark V. He's trying to figure out what this amazing tool can do and how to use the various attachments and commented several times about new things he learned from the book. ... show more

Great instruction manual for the Shopsmith 10ER that I've had for about forty years and have just now dusted off. This book was written for the old version of Shopsmiths and includes many projects. I'd hate to operate my Shopsmith without it!
