    • Bites stronger than OEM...but only if it's really warm
After 2300 miles, I thought I'd give a quick review/feedback on z36-1509 which I bought for 2nd gen Nissan Armada and I paired it with brand new EBC BSD rotors. I bought these pads because of the manufacturer claim that it performs >10% better than OEM. The OEM pads on the Armada already performs pretty good, so I thought even if this is just on par with OEM overall, I'd be happy. Well, not quite. While these pads feel to have higher coefficient of friction than OEM giving you shorter stopping distance, it's only there when it's warm and it's terrible when it's cold. You'd have to get the pads to specific temperature before they perform as claimed. If you're cruising for couple of minutes on a highway, your brake temperature will definitely go down - lower than the optimal operating temp of these pads. That said, it doesn't have a good usable temp range than OEM as you'd have stay consistently on that specific warm/hot temp range to get good bite. I know that'd be perfect for certain driving scenarios but not for mine. I drive on mostly highway. On the plus side, these have no noise and and exhibit lesser dust than OEM. And it'll fade just the same as the OEM. ... show more
