I really like this barbell pad. I got it to use at the gym for hip thrusts and that's it. I don't use it for squats -- that's what my traps are for. But it's great for hip thrusts. I don't bother with the straps that came with it. I can pop it right on either a mens or womens Olympic bar with the opening facing up and it stays on fine. It gives the perfect amount of protection to the pelvis without making too much bulk or pressing on your stomach. It fits well in my smallish gym bag. I had been using a yoga pad because I was too cheap and lazy to buy a proper barbell pad... glad I finally broke down and bought this one. And yes, it may be a little petty, but I like the all black color and the simple branding... Power Guidance looks cheesy but not as cheesy as the ones marketed to women that say "perfect peach" or whatever.

As an ACSM certified personal trainer, I give this product my golden stamp of approval. However, I don't use this pad for squats. Because the padding is so thick and soft, I utilize it for hip-thrusts. It gives the perfect amount of padding on the bar so my pelvis is not in direct contact with the steel bar.

I admit that sometimes I feel like an entitled princess when I walk into the gym with this, but hey, it works. The one at the gym is gross, yuck. It seems to have a strand of everyone's hair that has ever used it, it stinks and it's flimsy. This pad is cushy and without the bar scratching my body, I feel like I can do more reps. So those gym rats can think what they want while I get in shape.

I used this for 2 weeks with no problems but by the 3rd week the pad stretched out and now slips off the barbell. I normally keep my gym bag in the car for after work so I'm assuming it's not heat resistance. Besides the pad unfolding I didn't have any issues with it. It provided great support and did not tear apart or start peeling at all.

I recently started squatting, and as I have been increasing weight, I have noticed that the base of my neck has become sore (almost feels bruised). I purchased this pad and it works great. It is thick enough that I now do not have any soreness. It comes with straps, but I do not use them. I use it with our Titan Fitness 2" Olympic Plates Bar. So far, the pad is stiff enough that I can put it over the bar and then step back into the bar and use my back to keep the pad in place. Maybe the pad will loosen with use, and then I will need the straps, but right now I can easily put the pad on and off the bar to switch between squats and dead lifts quickly.

This product was not noteworthy for my needs however it may still fit the bill for someone with an Olympic bar. It is not suitable for a standard bar as advertised. The groove cut to cradle the bar is much too large for my standard bar. The straps merely hold the pad ON the bar without securing it in place. The pad slid, spun and moved, but technically stayed on the bar. The use of the straps interferes with the comfort. I returned it and ordered another pad that is also advertised to fit both standard and Olympic bars. The groove in the replacement pad is slightly smaller which provides security on the bar and the ability to take on and off without fanfare.

Literally the only thing I would change would be if it had attached closure straps instead of the separate ones. I love the added comfort for Hip Thrusts over the thinner Velcro ones I’ve used in the past but having two separate straps to use to hold it tight around the bar is too much hassle to dig through my gym bag and find both. So I just use it without the straps but then I’m sometimes having to pick it up off the floor between sets since after the first 2-3 uses it stretches out too big to stay on by itself. Otherwise though it is phenomenal! The thicker cushion to the side of the narrower neck cut out makes it work well for both exercises with the bar resting on the shoulders to not be too thick at the neck but also provides enough cushion on the hip bones to use it for heavy Hip Thrusts! I’ve been using it for a while now and except for the stretching out to not stay on the bar without the straps it has held up great and has been extremely durable.

*UPDATE* My original purchase was made back in May and the product worked perfectly but the smell it gave off was strong and unattractive no matter how much I washed it. The company was courteous enough to reach out to me and extend an apology along with a brand new one of no charge to me. I love it! On my heavy lifting days I never leave home without it. Nice padding, pretty pink color and comfortable fit to my shoulders and hips/legs. Great company and great product👍👍
