I picked up this compact circular saw for small projects around the house. It's a good balance between power and practicality. Its singular advantage is its light weight and portability. Unlike a full-size circular saw, this one is easy to carry around and comfortable to use for extended periods without fatigue. It is easily stabilized with one hand, which makes it convenient when working in tight spaces or when you need your other hand free to stabilize material. Its build quality is solid and appears to be constructed for durability. The bevel cutting adjustment is another welcome feature. The angle adjustment mechanism is precise and easy to set. The included laser guide is useful for keeping cuts on track. Spare batteries included. I chose the corded model because I prefer the reliability and power of corded tools for workshop use. For light-duty projects, this saw is nearly perfect. It makes exceptionally smooth cuts through 1/2" pine boards, plastic, and PVC. Even though it has enough power and cutting capacity to handle standard 2x4 lumber, you might want a full size saw for that. The cuts are clean and smooth. Of course the saw blade is new but if you need a longer lasting blade, carbide tipped blades are commonly available at your local Harbor Fright or big box stores. Not a disadvantage since every saw I ever bought always comes with a rather cheap blade. Use it until it wears out then replace it with a carbide tipped saw. It was also useful for making square cuts in drywall, where its compact size and visibility made it easier to control than larger saws. The only missing feature to complain about is the lack of a carry case to keep everything together. Not a big deal since you can throw it in a tool bag. Summary: It is lightweight, accurate, easy to handle, and versatile enough for a wide range of projects. The laser guide makes cutting as easy as drawing a line with a ruler! Even complex angles can be cut accurately in one go, and the edges of the wood are so smooth that they hardly need any sanding, saving at least half the rework time.
