I purchased this product not just for the low price, but because 3 sets of FP OEM cartridges worked poorly. They dried out over the weekend and I had to run test prints through each Monday morning. The print would fade after a short period of use and I would often have to clean or switch the cartridge positions to make the postage amount show up in full. So far these cartridges have worked perfectly and the print quality has not degraded over time. It's still early in the usage cycle; so, I have my fingers crossed that they will continue to perform well. Even if they only do as well as the FP, I'll still buy them because they are so much cheaper.

These almost always work well, but sometimes one of the pair will arrive leaking in the sealed bag, or won't print. Have never had a problem with returning defectives, and the last couple orders have worked well.

I purchased this product (Qty 2) for use in an FP Postbase 65. After inserting the cartridges from the first box, the alignment was successful with prints occurring as expected. Postage printed as expected the first day. The following day, the Postbase reported that there was no ink in the cartridges. It specifically reported that there was 0% remaining. I reset the cartridges and it reported that they were at 96%. Postage printed fine after that for a day. The following day, the meter reported that it could not communicate with the print cartridges. I took them out, inspected the chip and the contacts and, although they looked like refurbs, they didn't look damaged. I reinserted them, alignment was fine, but failed with the same error when trying to print postage. I then pulled those two cartridges out and used the cartridges from the second box that I had ordered and the alignment was successful, but then I received the communication error. I reseated them and got an error that the cartridge on the right was not responding. I swapped the cartridges from left to right and vice versa and was able to print some postage. After four imprints, I got the communication error again. After wiping the contacts gently, I got some more imprints, but then received the communication error again. Admittedly, these are non-FP certified cartridges, but the performance of this product is not acceptable and no discounted price makes up for a product that doesn't perform as desired. I would consider this a fluke except I purchased two sets of cartridges and they both failed.

Install was fine with the standard message saying it was not an FP cartridge. Calibrated and cleaned just fine and them printed flawlessly. this PIC40 replaced the PIC10 aka 58.0052.3038.00. So happy to not get ripped off on ink from FP, thank you.

We were tired of paying FP for their overly expensive cartridges (plus their shipping fees, which are insane) and decided to give these a try. They work perfectly! We have had zero problems with install, or the amount of ink in the cartridge. We do several letters a day and after many months of use, there is still plenty of ink left. Don't worry about the "chip" people have mentioned, the cartridge contained the same chip that FP Mailing Solutions comes with, so no worries about that. Overall, a great alternative that is equal in every way to the original.

Not sure why but if you read the other 4-5 star reviews, many of them mention the same thing we have experienced. Cartridge communication errors, calibration errors, printing problems - yet they still give them 4-5 stars. Well we have now experienced all of the above on the last 3 sets of cartridges. They sent us a replacement set last time since it had only been a few weeks but that set just started throwing errors in less than 60 days. Not going to bother with the replacement. FP is crazy expensive so we are trying out a new generic.

Update: It’s been over 2 weeks now and my cartridges are working flawlessly. 5 stars! So for the last 3 years I’ve ordered ink from FP...2 cartridges at about $280 plus FedEx shipping...which made the total cost about $310 or so. I finally smartened up and checked Amazon. I bought 2 boxes (4 cartridges) for about $150. When I installed them, I got the error message about it not being official ink or something to that effect but it calibrated and I’ve used it for a day flawlessly. I’ll come back after a week or so to update my review.
