This was more powerful than pneumatic and variance that I've used in the past. It proved too large to fit into tight spaces on cars that I work on. It's also very fast. Well this is great for removing large and/or stuck nuts and bolts, it will too easily over-tighten fittings under 20mm or so. However, this is clearly built to last and would be ideal for tractors, farm equipment or large trucks. It's a great value. It is porter cable quality and it is a beast

The media could not be loaded. These lugs were put on my a oil change place. They always over torque them. As you can see. Worked great. There were a couple reviews that made me cautious about buying this one. "This isn't a porter cable of old" Yes it is. This tool is a well made beast.took off two lugs almost instantly with no air needed "Not powerful" yeah once again I've used others that were weak like battery ones that give the rating in foot inches. Lol this one works perfect. "The tool is too heavy". Yeah I kinda feel like that is a good thing. Air tools are light because they have no motor. This has a motor and it is 7.5 horse and strong. I mean. I think it should be heavy and it is. Well made heavy metal case I love not buying Chinese knock off tools. I've learned in the first 50 years of my life cheap Chinese knock offs are horrible. Even if this thing is made in China. It works well. Feels good in the hand and works. I'll add this name to names of tools I'll buy in the future. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't overly expensive either. Worked Well to Remove a Water Heater Anode Rod

I purchased this impact wrench mainly for the purpose of removing the anode rod in our water heater and it worked very well. Removing the anode rod was super simple using this impact wrench. The impact wrench has plenty of torque and the power switch is a rocker type switch...push the top of the switch for reverse/loosening, push the bottom of the switch for forward/tightening. ... show more

Hard to beat the convenience and long life of a plug in tool for the shade-tree mechanic.

I do my own tire rotations and brake work on my vehicles. I recently bought a used vehicle that had a stripped wheel stud that I found when performing routine service. It had to be replaced. Under normal circumstances, my little pancake compressor is marginally capable of fueling my air impact wrench. For the stud work, it was very inadequate. So, I started looking at larger compressors and battery powered impacts. In the end, I settled on this tool as suiting my needs. Spared the expense/floor space of a large compressor and the chance of life/obsolescence issues with batteries. This tool is large, >12 inches, heavy (8lb); but it is powerful and convenient to use and store. I would prefer a direction switch over the rocker trigger. Be aware that it has no torque control settings and it has a lot of START/STOP fly-wheeling. I would be very cautious driving anything smaller than a lug nut or similar with it without some meaningful practice. I do like air tools. But, for the money, this tool works just fine on lugs and other large attachments and sits quietly on the shelf until I need it again. No fuss, no muss. ... show more

Inexpensive workhorse

I bought this with the intention of changing all struts to my 2004 Honda CR-V. This wrench performed admirably. A couple of seized bolts halted progress, but bigger air wrenches couldn't get them off either, so it definitely wasn't the fault of the unit. With the right penetrant to help(I ended up using acetone and ATF fluid in a 50/50 mix, sprayed onto the seized bolt), this wrench is unstoppable. Are there features I wish it had? Sure - it's only got one speed in each direction. It's pretty large and heavy. And obviously it being corded means you have to be tethered to an extension cord. But for the price? Come on... I dare you to do better. Yes, the size is huge and it can be cumbersome in tight spots. That's why you get extension bars and swivel bars. Even with the smaller units, you'll eventually need this stuff anyways because not even the smallest of units can get into the tightest of spots. The job was a success, and now I have a good impact wrench that makes quick work of changing tires, and makes for a lot of help with any other task you can throw at it. Just be sure to get a good socket set. I got a regular metric and deep metric (Hondas are all about the metric - obviously get what's suitable for your situation), along with an extension bar set and swivel. All of these accessories can be had for about $40~50 total. So for $130 you have an impact wrench with plenty of power, can handle any socket you need, and with the extension bars and swivel, it can handle any tight spots that inevitably come up. And yes, it's corded but hey - it means you never have to charge it. :) UPDATE - After my initial purchase this thing has now helped me replace front lower control arms, sway bar end links on my Honda Odyssey, and has helped me do a couple of brake jobs as well. Still has no problem taking big bolts off. Best $80 tool I've purchased. ... show more
