Description

The PORTER-CABLE PCC740LA 1/2" cordless impact wrench features a powerful motor which produces 260 ft-lbs of torque for heavy applications. It offers a maximum of 1,650 rpm's for driving large fasteners quickly, with a full variable speed trigger for precision control. The 1/2" hog ring allows for quick and easy socket changes. It also has a pro grade lithium battery for long life and maximum performance, along with a led light which helps improve visibility in dark areas. This impact driver is designed with a chemical resistant housing for automotive friendly settings. It also offers the user overmold grips for comfort during use. This unit is lightweight and balanced at 6.0 lbs with battery, and it has a short length measuring 9.9" front to back. Backed by porter-cable. Includes: (1) impact wrench, (1) 20V battery.No- Load Speed:1700 RPM.

This impact wrench is such a good deal, I bought one and gave it to a friend. I've used mine on car and tractor implement tools. Not having to rely on an air compressor saves me time (not waiting for the compressor to load) and allows me to work on things miles away from my shop. My life is better because of this impact wrench! The torque is incredible and the battery life is GREAT. I've used mine for four years or more with no problems. Durability, power and ease of use make it a winner for me. The only drawback is the size and weight. I used it to remove and install wheels on several cars. Its still holding its original charge with no obvious decline in torque. Very happy with all of my Porter Cable power tools (I also have the 1/4" impact and the multi tool)

This tool is so powerful, it loosens the screws in the battery. I have wrapped duct tape around the base of the batteries to keep from losing them, and tighten screws when I notice the battery case is loose. I purchased it for changing tires on my race car. The impact actually damages the lug nuts and wheel, so I use it to remove nuts and lightly tighten, then finish with lug wrench. ... show more

Most of the tools I own are Milwaukee. At one time Porter Cable was a great company so I thought why not give them a try. I gave it only 4 stars because.. 1. Value - the impact is variable speed but you cannot adjust torque. 2. No battery life indicator on the battery. I am use to having an indicator to tell how much battery life is left in the current charge. So it's guessing time when you go to use it. If I plan to use it for a larger project then I charge the battery the night before. 3. No dock for the battery. The charger attaches to the battery. Kind of DIY in my opinion. 4. Sockets are difficult to put on. I hope it loosens up over time. So it's more like a 3.5 star for these reasons. How does it work? Works great. Not a Milwaukee but it was cheaper. Since I use it for repair for personal vehicles and in restorations, I don't use it that often. So this is the same reason that I would also look at Harbor Freight as an alternative when I need a tool but won't be using it on a regular basis. In my case the Porter Cable was a step up and overall I am happy and a little disappointed. I could have spent much more on Milwaukee, been happier but perhaps spent more than I should have - this again this was a decent alternative. ... show more

This impact is worth every penny if you stay on the road a lot. Makes changing a flat tire a breeze. Breaks lug nuts well and tightens them well. I pull a lot of trailers and always have flats so these thing is a life saver. I just need cordless push button jack now to go with it

I used it to raise the front end of my Silverado extended cab. Now it didn't get it up with the scissors jack in record time but, it did get up. No problem removing lug nuts that were torqued to 110ft lbs. It is a weighty bugger but for about half the price of a Dewalt or Milwaukee, I can live with the extra weight. ... show more
