I've already used these tools for several projects around the house, and they work really well. They seem to be good quality units, though they are not (and not priced to be) contractor grade tools. The stock battery is a 2.0 Ah/20V unit. It doesn't have a long life when running the Sawzall, but recharges very quickly. I bought a SISGAD 5.0 Ah battery to supplement this kit, as well as a P+C oscillating saw/multi-tool. Love porter cable gear. Bought this extension package because of the 20v batteries I already have. This one has a smaller 20v battery and when I snapped it on to the drill, nothing. Then I put the battery on the charger and got the fast blink red light of battery death. The drill and reciprocating saw worked well with my other batteries. Don't buy this as a starter kit. It's worth it to have the drill and saw if you already have batteries. Lastly, the charger works too. I'm not returning it, just giving it 4 stars. ... show more

    • Not a full sized reciprocating saw - not heavy duty - short battery life
The reciprocating saw is about half the size of a normal reciprocating saw and the battery is small enough to fit in your pocket. I use reciprocating saws to cut up pallets for kindling wood for the wood burner. This saw did not have enough battery power to cut up one 3' x 4' pallet. I normal can cut up more than five pallets with a full sized reciprocating saw so this reciprocating saw was not going to satisfy my needs so I gave it to my daughter. I have other porter-cable 18v tools that are very good, but this 20v reciprocating saw did not have the power and battery life I need. ... show more

Love it!! - I have bought 3 combos myself - Gave one to my wife, Kept one for me, Gave one to a friend Depending on the end arm tooling (Blades) You can cut trees, metal, PVC, wood, plywood etc. The drill is 2 speed w/ torque graduations, keyless - never had a problem The battery is very light weight - Makes the tools easy to maneuver Comes with a bag, and plug in cord charger. I like the Porter Cable tools well enough that I have bought extra ones to give to my wife and daughters but the battery that came with this set was the first that I have had that was dead and would never charge up.
