The plastic knobs got hot and they don’t come off so it’s important to remove them for any repair . The igniter quit working so it doesn’t start up now . I will be getting a different brand for camping this fall.

My primary future use of this heater is for camping. I used to travel quite a bit when I was younger but not for the last five years. When I finally go back to camping, I'd rather do it with extra comfort and have some modern facilities like hot showers. Another potential use is taking it on a hunting trip also contributes to modern comforts and provides the opportunity to shower after long hours of sitting in your hunting hideout. I already have other camping equipment made by Camplux and I am satisfied with their gear quality and this heater does not disappoint either. It seems to be very well made, feels study and rigid. I really like the tankless design of the heater compared to other water heaters that would just heat water and keep it there for a long time. Tankless design allows to heat up water without wasting any gas to heat up and keep hot in the entire water tank. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the water was heated up to max temperature. The manufacturer claims that its power output is 38,000 btu/h and can output 1.5 gallons of hot water per minute and I totally believe it. This is clearly a more efficient design for water heaters. The size is smaller than I expected. It's small enough and portable to easily bring to a camp. I also like the design and overall look of this heater. The water heater has a simple operation design, it is quite easy to set up and use. It connects easily to the typical propane tanks you buy to use on your grill or in your generator or fire pit. In my case, I have several propane tanks on hand for exactly these purposes. There are only two knobs and the whole operation is remarkably simple. Just adjust the knob for the desired water flow and water temperature and enjoy. The temperature display is perfect and allows you to set the exact temperature you want. The burner flame is visible through the front opening. As I have said, it heats up really quickly. The heater has 6 protection functions to ensure its safety. It automatically decreases water pressure between 3.0-145 PSI, has an anti-freezing drain plug that discharges residual water to avoid freezing, and has overheating protection when water temperature reaches over 167F. Also, it can automatically shut off gas supply when flame is not detected. But still with all the built-in protection you absolutely need to make sure that you set it up properly and taped the propane fitting threads so it wouldn't leak any gas as it can catch fire. And I strongly recommend "test driving" it in your backyard before taking it into the woods to make sure everything fits together, works as it should and to familiarize yourself with its operation. *** TL;DR *** Yes, I definitely recommend this potable water heater. It's very well made, sturdy and tough, and heats up water almost instantly. Easy to use with only two knobs to tune and a water temperature display. It's safe to operate thanks to overheating protection, automatic water pressure regulation and automatic gas shut off. And it can heat up lots of water, flow is rated as 1.5 GPM! Just be aware that all products of this type will only heat the water a max of around 15 degrees F. If you're hoping to use this for off-grid showers, you may be in for a disappointment.

I suppose most people use this impressive water heater for camping, but we have been looking for a way to rinse off salt water after a day in the pool without being soaked with cold tap water. This thing worked perfect. I really don’t know how it keeps producing hot water without a tank, but it does. It is so simple to hook up and comes with everything you need except a couple of batteries and a water hose. We live in the country and use propane for cooking, and have a huge tank buried in the ground. I simply tapped into the gas line to give this unit a permanent home at the pool. A simple tank like you use on your grill would work fine too. It comes with a shower faucet which works fine, but I provided this one with a wall-mounted outdoor shower faucet. It looks great and the wife loves it. Overall, it is a great addition for the pool. Thus far, this seems to be a really high-quality product which does exactly what it says it will do. I am a landlord by profession, and I have bought a lot of hot water heaters. Gas heaters cost more than electric. This is my first experience with a tankless model, and I am impressed. The next time one goes out at a rental unit, I’ll have to give tankless some consideration, even though it cost more than regular units. We have a camper and I had to replace the hot water heater on it a few months ago. It is not tankless, and it cost nearly five times what this heater cost. How do they sell such a useful, quality product for such a reasonable price? I don’t know. Whatever you use this product for, I think you will be happy with the purchase.

I purchased this for an indoor installation in our outdoor greenhouse. To make a very long story short, it works a few limitations.. This is what I learned: A) It definitely needs an exterior vent. It almost immediately set off a C02 detector. B) The top is hot. Like, really hot. So hot it will melt or burn whatever is behind or above it. C) The auto ignite feature is awesome. It activates whenever the water is on. D) I also like the temp reading on the screen. E) Despite the controls you can't control the temperature. It works well in the 90-110 degree range. F) It works best with water set to full and gas on low. G). You need to play with the gas dial a bit. Once the reading hits 110, it will fail if you dial up. H). Once it fails, it immediately dips to 60 degrees. You have to turn off the water to reset. Knowing all of the above, I just leave the dials at the settings that work. Low gas, high water. It seems to ignite well at those levels and deliver consistent water. Venting is critical if it's an indoor space. There's too much heat and CO2 that needs to escape.
