This portable wheelchair was very functional, heavy duty and well made. It made traveling with it virtually hassle free. I purchased this to take my mom on a trip to Paris and Italy. It worked well on almost all of the different surfaces and was very easy to maneuver. It fit on almost all of the narrow sidewalks, in the museums, churches, restaurants and stores. It even fit in most of the very small elevators (lifts). Because it is very lightweight, it was not difficult to push my mom around Venice up and down the ramps. Its small size made it easy to load on to taxis and trains. It fit very easily in the luggage rack on the trains all over Italy. The wheelchair came back in one piece and is ready for more action. A friend recommended this for my mom with Parkinson's. We had been rotating between a walker or standard foldable wheelchair when we would go out. Neither was the perfect option and both were hard to fit in the back of my car. The only thing that doesn't make this perfect is that you cannot adjust the foot rest. She complains that there legs are in an awkward position so it isn't the best for long strolls. Otherwise it has been great because it is light and easy to use. You can maneuver through tight crowded spaces and it pulls right up to a dining table when we get to a restaurant whos' chairs don't have arms. She needs arms or she falls out of her seat and this is great because it has arms and still fits up close. ... show more

This portable folding wheelchair is fabulous for any medical trips, vacations, and general use. It's small enough to not take up much space. It fits in overhead plane's storage area. It comes with a nice, zippered storage bag. It's about 16 lbs and folds up easily. It's easy to assemble and rolls easily on any surface. We have a traditional wheelchair. Nowhere is this said to be a CHILDS wheelchair. It just said lightweight enough for a child or elderly person to lift! It is definitely not for all persons!

    • Great - but only if the high footrest is comfy for your patient

Quality product, but my 5 foot tall mom refused to use it because the footrest felt way high to her, making her bend her knees too much. Can't imagine what it would be like if she was taller. If the height works for you though, a winner. And maybe there's a way to adjust the footrest lower, but I'm too dense to figure it out. ... show more

This is very compact and handy to have on trips. My mom was able to walk with it as a walker and I could push on longer portions of the trip. It isn’t heavy. I almost launched my mom out of the chair when we hit a bump the first time pushing her in the airport and that’s when I figured out the back peddle. This chair gave my husband back his ability to attend outings like tours when he may not be able to walk long distances quickly enough. It's sturdy and sleek with more of a sporty/transport appearance rather than anything full-out medical, which for him was a plus. I do have somewhat of a challenging time with steering, as the bar (much like the chair) is quite narrow which can be stressful to my forearms.
