This thing is pretty dang cool! It’s a lot bigger than I anticipated which is nice. Some look like they’re the size of a coffee mug, where this one is 3x bigger. The only issue I have — and this could be related to the “fuel” I’m using, is that after just 20 minutes or so, there’s a noticeable black “soot” on the glass. The glass also gets unbearably hot. No biggie, but if you have little ones or pets that could accidentally touch it, it could be a BAD situation. Aside from that, it’s awesome. It generates a BIG flame. I am using 91% Rubbing Alcohol from a giant chain store which has it for about 1/3rd of the price of Amazon Basics you may find. Seems like one full “cup” of the fuel will burn for around an hour if I had to guess. It comes with two cups which is super cool. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The size of this fire pit was larger than I expected, and I love it! I went through many, many listings to find just the right one. It comes with a silicone pad to keep the table cool. The glass is pretty sturdy in the pit so I am not worried about it toppling off the base. The canister and the fuel can fit perfectly, and it is easy to fill by taking the glass off and filling, then replace the glass. I use a long utility lighter, so I can put it down inside to light the fuel. Living in Florida I have little use for a space heater, or a gas fireplace, and this is perfect for my needs. My animals love the warmth it puts off and they just settle down on the chair to bask in it. I haven’t yet, but it’ll be perfect for roasting marshmallows. You could actually probably do hot dogs over it also. I also want to say, I tried the isopropyl alcohol 91%, and while it left a little soot in the glass, it burned well and it last 1 1/2 hours in a single fill. The info given says 1 hr at full flame. So I’ve ordered 99% isopropyl alcohol which should get rid of the fil of soot on the glass. I would recommend this to anyone who wants the beauty of an inside fire pit. The media could not be loaded. I initially got this for the idea of literally having over the flame smores, have I done smores yet, no will I in the future, probably not. The reason being that flame only comes up so high and you risk melting your marshmallow and having it fall into the tube of rubbing alcohol. Doesn't seem too appetizing but it is still a possibility. So I wouldn't not completely throw the idea out, but I found the purpose of it being a centralized flame that provides a little heat good enough for my needs. The reason for 4 star instead of 5 despite how much I love this table top firepit is that there were no instructions for the rubbing alcohol. I have never had one of these so I did not know the protocol for the alcohol ratio to cotton soak. You get a little hand book but it list everything provided, to use rubbing alcohol, do not touch it when it's hot, do not place it near here, there, anywhere flammable, etc. That's it, not ration instrutions which I need, so I did the good old fashion google search and I still did not get a definite answer, but from what I could gather, you just fill those combustion chambers close to the top. I do not know if this is right or wrong, there were no instructions on how much to fill. Everything else was very easy to put together or self explanatory. They do provided a silicone mat for the bottom of your pit which will keep it from burning onto your table, you have a long lid that will help you extinguish your flame when you are good and done and without burning your fingertips, and two combustion chambers so if you are in a good mood and the flame goes out, no worry about stopping the mood, you just simply fill and place the other chamber. Not sure what the tongs are for besides maybe moving the combustion cotton in the canisters or picking out rocks you accidently know into the rubbing alcohol, who knows? This is a very delightful pit for a number of occasions, the fuel is cheap and easy to get, and it is smokeless which is great for when you use it indoors. I do wish the glass could be locked down unto the base just in case you knock it over but it is easy to take off and put on, the stones are a cute touch but not needed (your preference), and it is the perfect size your desire of a small indoor flame. Would recommend for those moments that need a little extra heat to help the occasion. Enjoy! ... show more

I was really excited about the idea of a table top portable fire pit, so I really wanted to give this a try. The instructions are not very clear at all. The pamphlet that comes with the fire pit has two tiny sets of illustrations to show you how to assemble the fire pit and then how to light it. It does not include a list of pieces or step by step instructions on how to put it together or use it. Most of the information in the pamphlet are warnings and cautions about using this. It doesn’t actually give you very much information about the item. As if the assembly isn’t confusing enough, there is some confusion between the info given in the item listing and the info in the included pamphlet. I knew this fire pit did not come with any fuel, I thought you could use fuel gel for fire pits with this, but according to the warnings in the pamphlets, it says you cannot use fuel gel. In the item description, it says you can use various types of alcohol to burn, including isopropyl alcohol, but in the warnings in the pamphlet, it says to only use 95% ethanol. Overall, the fire pit looks very nice and stylish once you put it together. I like the black fire rocks they included for decoration, but they were all shoved in a tiny bag in the box, and the bag had split at the seams so the rocks were spilling everywhere when I opened the box. That was kind of annoying. I ended up using isopropyl alcohol to test the fire pit, but I made sure to use it outside. It took about 5 minutes for it to burn to a full flame, but it looks nice and generates decent heat. I was hoping I’d be able to use this to make s’mores inside, but the glass is pretty high so the heat doesn’t seem high enough at the top. Overall, I guess this is a nice fire pit, but it isn’t something I absolutely need to have and so far it isn’t living up to my expectations. ... show more
