I will say, this press does actually work well. It is surprisingly accurate, light, also and easy to use. I purchased it for one interior stair railing job I was doing. Where I needed to drill 10 holes 7/8" into 4"x4" square pre-painted Newel posts at a 42-degree angle. Now anyone that knows what I had to do will already know you cannot start a spade bit (use a not self-drilling, important point) at an angle where the wing hits first. A stationary drill press for handrails or anything that can be removed is naturally stable. For the shop quality in the field, this press does the job. Especially with a 7/8" bit. The smaller ones you can start straight by hand and work the angle. Not this size, too wide. This press is stable enough to use 2 quick grip clamps to the post and a cordless drill, start drilling and the wing cuts first without any walking at all. I drilled 5 holes on an installed prefinished Newel in 15 minutes. No walking, no chipping, and the hole is true to the 7/8" with no oval out. The gauge is clear, tighten knobs are strong. The video on-line is also accurate where the point at 90deg hits the same spot at whatever degree you are drilling at. The chuck is strong and grips well, and the bearing holding the chuck has tight tolerance. No play in it, seems like it'll last for moderate use. For the money it will pay for itself even if you only get 4 or 5 jobs out of it. I don't see any reason it will fail anytime soon, but definitely worth the purchase.

Works well but depending on how it is used, accuracy for sharper angles and narrow applications requires a jig. The stop slid on me from time to time. I was using it to drill holes for stair rails.

I havent had a chance to officially put this to use yet but as the summer months approach I'll probably get back out on the driveway with projects again. This looks like it will work great with my Dewalt drill, it is easy to connect and and secure the drill to the drive portion of this rig. The set comes with a chuck key that is easy to work with and secure your bit. There are nice degree marks on the side of the setup and it is easy to secure the guide in place with the friction screw setup. I havent tried securing the guide to a surface yet but there are 4 guide holes in the corners of the base that could easily secure this to a table or mobile setup as needed. The material seem to be a good quality and durable. Once the correct angle is dialed in and secure, the rig seems to be pretty stable. In my initial testing I was having a little bit of difficulty adjusting the angle but that may mostly be because I had not fully secured the base. I would assume after securing the base it will adjust along the angle guide easier. Looking forward to using this.

I've used this drill guide about 10 times now and haven't seen any wear or damage, which is pretty impressive. The adjustment is really easy to work with when I need to make changes. I can handle drill bits up to 1/2" without any problems. I think this tool works well for what it's designed for, mainly wood projects. The aluminum construction feels solid for woodworking tasks. I wouldn't try using it on steel though since I don't think it's meant for anything that heavy duty. But it's versatile for woodworking, and has good stability for that use case. The guide has held up well so far and makes my drilling more accurate. It is nice and lightweight.

This portable drill guide is very versatile and adaptive to any need you may have for drilling. It's a very heavy and heavy duty piece of equipment but also very easy to setup the way you need it. Whether you screw it down or not, it's very stable once adjusted and ready to go. The addition of the side handle and the wide base keeps the rig straight even with big drills. There's an easy to read stop adjustment on the side with a thumb screw. The drill chuck itself has a hex on top to really grab the power drill chuck firmly. It comes with a chuck key and a small hole to hold it too on the base. The side degree call outs are clear but there's no position stops. Due to this you should probably have a way to check the angle it's set at if you need precise degrees in the work. It's definitely pretty accurate as it's marked but it moves a tiny bit when locking it down. Overall, it's an amazing drill guide, it basically turns your power drill into a drill press. I love it and highly recommend it!
